One of the Kodak DX series if you want a bells & whistles one. I bought a cheapie (not a kodak) that was just under $300 new on E-bay for $22.50 all up.It has a flash and can do close ups.The card can hold 18 standard pics or 5 high resolution ones.
I found a Sony Cybershot on ebay for $250, but it was "opened box". I had to buy a mem. stick for it (128m holds around 150 pics, $50 but I could've spent less) too. I can't find a model number on it, but it's 5.1 megapixel. I think it does really well.
