opium/herion and cops

SO last night me and my boyfriend and his best friend were picking up a little bit of opium from a friend down the road...nothing to big...right? well, a cop started to follow us, for no good reason, and my friend speeds up a bit (stupid! stupid! ) and the cop pulls us over. My friend doesnt have his liscense on him (stupid! stupid!) and than another cop comes, and than another one with the dog. We had ditched the opium right up the street, but they found it... 10 grams. Anyway... my boyfriend, who claimed the opium as his, is getting charged with herion. Now, i know herion is from opiates... but just having tar balls can count as herion?? This just doesnt seem right at all to me. The cops also said last night that we had 1,000 $ worth of herion, but even 10 g's of opium isnt worth nearly that much!! Can anyone explain whats going on here?

 

DSK is right, you need a good lawyer. And not that I am condoning the act of deliberately telling lies...but... it might be useful, as a last resort in court, for you both to change your stories, and say you were lying about whose it was cuz you were so flustered by being pulled over you didn't know what to do. It is just a thought, and I am no expert in beating the court system, so remember that I have no idea if that would help or not, I just know that a friend of mine was once asked to testify against a friend, and pointed out to the officers serving the subpoena that the statement given at the time of the 'crime' was provably false, and that was enough to change their minds about the whole thing. So, it is quite different, and might not be of use in your case.... but I sure hope that you are able to plea bargain and avoid any harsh sentence.

How did you get hash confused with opium? Two relatively different compounds...

...BTW, opium will always be branded as "heroin" by the arresting officer, as that's what it will test for in the lab (and who wants an opium bust?)

What in the hell. I've watched Cops and in cities they generally test the stuff right on the spot, they don't shoot first and ask questions later... I don't get it. People are just getting more ignorant by the nanosecond.

 

is was just balls of tar... you can get the two confused.. drugs come in alot of different colors and sizes ya know.

yea people are getting more ignorant (especially cops) but i guess that can be a good or a bad thing
