Booboo great idea!!!! Love it! Where are you posting the sign? I'm gonna try to camp by the campground shakedown. Or the line of trees by the campground stage. Not sure yet. I will def put my waka address on the sign. Ya'll stop by and sit a spell. 4 days!!!! I can't wait! The ticket's are $120 now. They were $80 last February when they 1st went on sale, then they were $99 till June 1st and now they are $120. It's worth it! You get 4 days of music and camping. See ya there.
The grounds map gave a location for a message board so I'll post the Hipforums Locations List there. Lets decide on a time and place for everyone to meet so I can include that info on the Location List as well. I think sometime Sat. afternoon 'cause most everyone will be there by then. I'll have my Hipforums Meet up sign at my camp. Look for a Kelty Zen tent next to a white Taurus with a Free Leonard Peltier and black AT(Appalachian Trail) stickers. I'll pm ya'll with my cell # as soon as I get it. WAAAAAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Only 2 1/2 more days till departure time!!!!
I have an extra Wakarusa 4-day ticket for sale for $100.00 that's 20 cheaper than the gate price. If your interested PM me and we will work something out.
i was about to get in the car with a buddy i camped with at Roo and just go to Wakarusa but i decided to go back to work. (yay for me not doing what i want ) anywho, so im missing it, and quite reluctantly at that. so everyone who is going post pictures and tell all about the fest... im going to live it vicariously through you all. the lineup is fucking sick, though. looks like a lot of fun.
fun fun fun!!!! it was spectacular. our neighbors were the shit, the weather was great, and the music was lovely! i had an all around splendid time. how bout everyone else?
if i didn't leave on sunday night, then yes, it would have been me doing that .. i'm sorry that happened. that's ultra lame.
I heard one person died on the grounds (and it happened on sunday). some 28 year old man from florida........ and there is someone missing who is from connecticut..... they are looking all over for his body...... I dunno......... and my stereo is missing too! dammit.
Wakarusa was sooooo awesome!!! Madcrappie that sux! I hadn't heard of much thieving going on. It was 4 days of some of the best music. Monday morning I was so sore from dancing so much. The bands rocked, the people were kind, the party favors, dank. My neighbors were great, I camped right across the st. from shakedown. I had a better time than last year. AT98BooBoo, You are a sweetheart! I am so glad I got to meet you and hangout with you this week-end, dancing and partying. You are my soul brother. Can't wait to see you at the next Schwagstock and at the Lovefest. Personface, your such a beautiful sister! I was so glad to see you again, you have such an awesome aura. You brightened up my camp everytime you stopped by. Thanks for being such a good friend. Your so upbeat and so much fun to hang with. See you all at Schwagtock 26, 2 1/2 weeks to go!
wakarusa was the fukin SHIT!!! Sorry to hear about the theivin' There did appear to be an assortment of lowlifes hanging around, but you can hardly escape that at festivals these days. One really trashed girl kept hiting my car on the way out demanding I give her some gas money. There was also a fight on Shakedown early Sunday morning. Overall, the thing went off awesome! I am so glad we decided on this instead of Bonnaroo. Sorry I didn't get to meet any of you. Maybe we danced together. My new favorite band after the weekend: Donna the Buffalo. Wow! That's like the happiest music I've ever heard. I kept looking around and everyone had big shit eating grins on their faces. So did I, for that matter. It sucks to be back in the real world. I can't wait for "The Big One" in Indy. Peace, y'all!
sorry i missed you all! i wish that i would have read this thread before i went then i could have known to go to the message board and see where everyone was at. I camped just off of shakedown myself, i caught 32 shows and danced my little tootsies off. I loved every minute of it. Coming from kerrville, i was experiencing a bit of shell shock, so it was propbably good that i was keeping to myself. My new favorites after this weekend? Wilco and xavier rudd!! they rocked!!! Good vibes, good vibes! Much love! i'm looking forward to schwagstock, hopefully i can meet up with you all there!
WAKARUSA!!! oh man... Galactic, was the best show(s) all weekend....they jam hard.....Cheese kicked so much ass in the Revival Tent.....the Schwag was so cool to see......i discovered a new band that i fucking love called Lotus.....every show was sick as hell....did anyone happen to catch that painter guy, who painted outspace-scapes, with spray paint? it was unfuckingbelivable....the man is brilliant....a few folks removed there 70's volkswagon side-door....and this dude painted the most brilliant space scene on the whole door, for only 50 dollars!!! anywhere else this would of been atleast a 1000 dollar paint job....the guy is a genius......and the lake what a life saver, and a kick ass party....i spent the majority of the day in the lake, high as hell and loving life.....then jump on the NO-WAKA and see some of the best music ever....
yessss i saw that guy. we sat and watched him for like 30 minutes one night and i was amazed. and the lake, yes it was amazing. and ohhhh the no waka buses were great. i didn't catch many day shows either because i would just be too tired or high to watch them.. i think i saw like 16 shows though.. it was a good amount for me. i had a blast. and personface... i think i saw you at the schwag! were you wearing a purple-ish bandana? i couldn't tell if it was you, otherwise i would have said hello!
Yes that was Personface in the purple bandana. I was the barechested guy with the small purple backpack and blue nylon shorts that was dancing right next to her. I don't remember if I was wearing my dark blue bandana or my orange'n' yellow tie dye bandana. PeaceluvinHippieTaz was just a few feet in front of us. I coulda swore I saw PeaceluvBarefeet just a few feet way from me but wasn't sure if it was her. It was really cool to met more Hipforums members. I never did find the message board. Oh well.... Perhaps I'll be meeting more of ya'll at the upcoming Schwagstocks. Just look for the Hip Forums Meet Up sign outside the Stone Lodge at 2pm Sat. afternoon.
Can EVERYBODY say HOT BUTTER RUM STRING BAND, SCI, RAILROAD EARTH, P-GROOVE, and all the other amazing bands that made that weekend so wonderful?!? Swimming in that lake naked after SCI's late-night show trippin my brains out was unreal. My appreciation for nature has multiplied ten-fold, and the music bringing everyone together was perfect. Everyone dancin to "Peace on Earth" or "Smilin' like a buddha" during Railroad Earth's set was amazing. Especially since it was right as the sun was setting behind the trees. The only downer was I got in a little trouble for drinking non the less. I got charged with a minor in possession of alcohol by an undercover cop the first 5 minutes I was in there.
Waka was AMAZING! I haven't had sooo much fun in a really long time. The people were chill, the music was awesome, and the weather treated us very kind. I camped next to the greatest neighbors in the entire world, and I even fell in like with one of them. Lotus was a great show. I have never danced so much in my entire life! There were lots of other wicked bands as well. Staying up watching the sun come up, while having the trip of my life, and talking to the greatest person ever was a very enlightening experience. I had it all thanks to Waka and the sweet vibes it came with.
I camped right on 8th street near the port-a-pottys we had a sign on our camp area that said CAMP PHANTASY.
