I am so sickened by this attitude! I've even had people close to me express their discomfort with breastfeeding women and it usually starts an hour long debate between me and them. Ladies, why should we have to fight so hard for something that is so natural?!! Damn society and all their stupid problems! Sorry, it just really pisses me off!

There are cultures where woman walk around completely topless and nobody cares, yet people here can even stand to be near a woman feed her baby?

This country can be really prudish sometimes.

    Ugh I know, so pathetic.

Haha, doesn't it make you want to deliberatly nurse right in her line of vision? :X

Totally agree with the rest of you. See you've all gone made me a Lactivist*, or at least one in training.

*Can I be one yet, thus far have only been on the receiving end of nursing.

stupid people...we have people expressing views like that here too so don't worry, it's not just an American thing... more of an uptight thing! Makes me wanna go and have more babies just to breastfeed them when I read stuff like that!! I think the media likes to beat it up every now and then as an issue to...you know when there is a "quiet " news day (ie: no one in a country that anyone that workd in the media office really knows had a disaster)

I can remember a few times getting odd looks from people when feeding in public, they were never brave enough to come up and say anything though which is probaly a good thing...for them!! Slightly sleep deprived breastfeeding mothers are not really the sort of people I would go picking a fight with!!
I really hated it though when one of my friends who was nursing at the same time as me was too self concious to breastfeed in public...even in front of some friends, made me mad at the world who had bought this beautiful lady up to regard something natural and necessary as something that should be hidden and private. Toilets are smelly germy places and I wouldn't feed in one at home so why should I sit in one when out? Even breastfeeding rooms are horrible, good for changing a dirty diaper in cause toilets are normally crap for doing that too! Like I used to say to her, I have no tits and no one was ever looking at them before so if someone was actually interested in looking at them just cause I have a bubba stuck to them what the hey!! There are a million more things about other people and their public behaviour that might offend me if I bothered about it and got my knickers seriously in a twist...those people have nothing better to do than worry about my boobs?? thats almost worth a party in itself!!
go procreate and feed publicly...well the feeding part publicly at least!!
    :D
