I've always found this forum to be incredibly accepting of gays, lesbians, and bisexuals. Hell, this is the hippie.com Love & Sex forum - it's pretty queer for a place where the majority, as in the nation, world, and your lovely family - are straight.

As a lesbian I've always posted slightly adjusted to fit my interests. If there's a thread about breasts, I post in it. If there's a thread about women's dick length preferences, I don't. No one raises an eyebrow in here about references to gay sex. I get a generally warm "it's all good" vibe from mostly everyone.

Besides, like 85% of the girls in here are bi :) Not that there's aaaannnyything wrong with that!

I don't know why you would think that "most" of the members here are bi or gay. If that were the case, Samhain's complaint would be moot.

I have to say that I'm pleased that there is not a preponderance of gay-issue threads and posts here because they simply don't interest me. (It's not a homophobia issue: I'm not homophobic at all.)

I will say that it gets a bit irritating when gay people want all kinds of special accommodation. I mean, look, the level of "gay threads" is gonna be whatever it's gonna be. If the preponderance of people here are straight or just interested in "straight discussions," that's what you'll find, naturally. If gay people post what they want to talk about, and it doesn't match the proportion of straight posts, what can ya do? But what do you expect -- that straight people will post about stuff that doesn't concern them, just to please the gay contingent?

    Blue skies,

Um, it IS open to all types of love and sex, gay or not!
What part of "anyone can post whatever the hell they damn please" is not open, in your view?

Since there is no oppression or suppression of any gay people here, what's their gripe? You can't expect that someone like me, a straight guy, is going to post a thread like, "Guys, do you spit or swallow your gay lover's semen?" when that is utterly not a concern to me! If gay people want gay posts, fuckin' POST them! But quit whining like we owe you some sort of entertainment or SPECIAL welcome. No one approached ME and said, "Hey, you're straight? WELL, then, let welcome you warmly to our forum!"

    Blue skies,
    -Jeffrey

What is all this bullshit about "talk about all types of sex and love 'SHOULD BE WELCOME' here"?! IT IS welcome! What Samhain seems to be complaining about is that posters are not forced to be all touchy-feely "inclusive" when they start threads. But don't mischaracterize the situation: no one is posting "Get rid of the gay posts, faggots" or stuff like that. No one is trying to keep such posts out of here. There is no conspiracy against anything gay here.

Really... what do you want? Should we be forced to "include" people we aren't like, just so they feel "welcomed"? Isn't that a little tyrannical? If this is about free speech, part of speaking freely is not only deciding what to speak about, but what you don't speak about. If you HAVE to speak about something, you're not speaking freely.

    Blue skies,
    -Jeffrey

so yes of course there are alot of 'straight' posts, if you feel left out, its your own fault, coz nobody is doing it on purpose
