The Doors of the 21st Century

Has anyone heard them or went to a show. They are coming to edmonton and i would like to check them out. Ray Manzerak from the original doors is part of it so it might be worthwhile to check out.

I saw D21C in April. They kick ass!!! If you loved the doors in the 60's, you will love them now. Bobby Kreiger fron the original doors will be there too. Ian Astbury (from The Cult) will be singing in place of Jim Morrison. Johnny Densmore suffers from tinitus and cannot play shows anymore. There is a drummer in his place, but I don't remember his name. An there is also a very talented bassist playing with the band. I encourage anyone and everyone to see this band and witness a couple of true legends in the history of music.

 

John does still perform! He is in a band called Tribaljazz, that has an album out this month. The reason he is not playing with the D21C, is because he does not agree with what Robby and Ray are doing. Ray Manzarek, the original keyboardist is also with the D21C. John actually filed a lawsuit against the other members of the Doors to stop them from performing as "The Doors".

 

i wouldn't mind see the doors 21st century, but i'd much prefer if densmore were playing the drums....can make a huge difference to the music

 

I've seen them twice, and I would gladly go see them again. They put on a truly amazing show.

 

I sometimes have thought what thought what would it be like to have Van Morrison doing new original studio material with the remaining members of The Doors. I think it would be artistically brilliant or a disaster but nothing in between.
