What's really scary is how we define what makes a package or activity "suspicious." I can't help but feel like we've all been brainwashed to be much more frightened than the situation really warrants.
I apologise for laughing so hard..if you have read what i have said before i started laughing and after i stopped and still feel i don't know what i am talking about (and won't pick me up on anything i have said).. fair enough. I don't need to live in America to realise a harmles poster is not some 'police state' in the making ... we have the same kind of mentality by some people predicting a 'police state' also.. Are you happy just to do a 'nudge nudge wink wink' kinda thread and just be satisfied with everyone going 'yeah' ...at least i bleedin put some effort into it...
It's obvious that BILLIONS of our tax dollars are being pumped into Homeland Security, and yet what of value are we getting in return for our "investment"? Soviet-era artwork on mass transit??? I'd prefer government issue of Ingram MAC-10s and 200 rounds of ammunition to every adult US Born Citizen (Cuz you really can't trust the allegiance of immigrants). That would fix the problem, right? Or snipers with night vision scopes every 300 yards alond the US-Canadian and US-Mexican borders. Anyone tries to cross anywhere other than a marked entry point, blow 'em away and leave 'em to rot. How about suspension of constitutional rights at international entry points? If Achmed won't give up the location of his Al Quaida cell, maybe a few jolts on the anus with a tazer will freshen his memory. And all of a sudden the stupid posters don't seem so bad.
It's just one more piece of the growing and sickening hypocracy that often plagues governments headed straight into the crapper. Spend 87 billion on a war protecting America from terrorists, turn countryman against countryman by raising McCarthy-esque suspicions (which is what the poster symbolizes in my opinion) yet leave the boarders so wide open that anyone even half way intelligent could very, very easily cross them.
