Just wondering what everyone's favorite kitty litter is?

We just got two 4 week old kittens after their mom died. Because of the last minute decision to take them in we ran out and bought the first bag of litter we can find. Now I'm wondering what's better to use. I wont change the box because we're trying to get pregnant so poor dh is stuck with the job so any litter we pick has to be something he'll be ok with.

    Any suggestions?

I have 5 cats here....a good scoopable!! Not a time to try to get the cheap shit, as I have found out. I have scoop away right now but not what I usually use and don't remember wtf it is. I want one of those autoboxes so much. I'm jealous! lol

how about a self cleaning litter box? I don't know how well they work (my cat uses the outdoors) but it would seem easier than a regular one.

We use a generic Publix brand cat litter. We have a normal box for my 2 kittens and the others can control their bowels a little better so when they stand at the door, we just let them out. If we are sleeping, they use the box. We change it maybe once a day. Twice if somebody has the runs. Sometimes we just scoop out the poop and add more fresh litter to it.

actually, don't use a scoopable with a young kitten!!!! it has the potential to harm their insides...the stuff can stick to their paws and when they clean themselves it can get into their stomachs, form a gel, and clog them up! this is no joke as i knew someone who had a kitten that died from this! and traditional clay litter forms dust that is harmful for you and your cat to breathe. spend the extra 5 bucks and buy a natural cat litter. there are lots out there. here are some links: http://www.swheatscoop.com/

and be careful with that littermaid, man. i knew a lady who's kitty lost her life because of that contraption. it's not worth the extra convenience to me to risk losing my beautiful cat. i'd rather just bend over and scoop it myself knowing she'll be safer doing it the old fashioned way. whenever i have kids in the future and am pregnant, my husband will do the litter maintainence, simple as that.
