Get Yahoo messenger. IF you can see yourself and a "Broadcast" button, it works.

Ya should have said THAT to start with. University Networks usually DON'T allow that. You need your own ISP.

    true.

you'd have to go way out of your way, maybe change the port it worked with, maybe a proxy, but it's too much hassle. ain't worth it.

Are YOU on a "Public Access" machine OWNED by the School? Like in the Library, or the "Computer Lab"? Because if you ARE, you won't be allowed to install ANY software.

I'm using my own laptop, connected through a wireless network.
I was trying to use aim but now it keeps shutting its self down as soon as it starts up! I cant even get it to stay on long enough to change the preferences, so I've reinstalled a few times but no luck maybe it's the new aim but the prob started the same time I installed the cam. I un and re installed the cam as well, no use. I'm trying the msn messenger to see if I can get that to work, is there a messenger/aim type program that I can use to chat to someone using aim? (I think I'll start investing in stamps this computer and internet fad has had its day[IMG])
