Before I had my daughter I never really had a problem with bras, but now that my boobs are bigger, i can never find a bra that fits right. I was told that you can go to Victorias Secret and they will fit you for a bra, but I'm a little freaked to do that. Has anyone ever gone and had this done? What is the process? Is it expensive? and, if anyone knows of any other stores that do this, please let me know. Thanks a bunch!
It's not a big deal really- we all know what boobs look like! They just measure the area right underneath your chest to determine your band size (i.e., 34, 36, etc)..then measure around your chest right at the nipple to determine your cup size. It's free, at least it was when I had it done a few years ago. If you're really self-conscious, you can wear a sports bra, as long as it doesn't lift your chest up. But honestly, it's not a big deal and won't take more than 3 minutes.
when I was measured at Victoria's Secret, they did it when I had my shirt on! It was no biggie at all, just go in and ask to be measured and if they do ask you to take your shirt off, which I doubt, just tell them you're more comfortable with it on.
They're really nice and professional at Victoria's Secret. I went there a few weeks after I had Noah and had quit breastfeeding and couldn't fit into anything I had at home the right way. They were a lot of help, and even gave me a discount for being measured. That was cool, since the damn thing was like $40. But I deserved it!
Just had it done again yesterday (I've gained a bit of weight since the last time). Quick, easy, right in the front of the store, shirt on & all of that. Just wear your most comfortable bra (no push-up or anything, but sagging down from where the bra holds you may affect the measurement) & a light shirt, like a t-shirt or something, not something thick like sweater material (you've all seen those tank tops I'm thinking of, right?). It takes all of about 45 seconds. And, if you hurry, their semi annual sale is going on, you can get a $40 bra for $15... As for other stores that offer this, I saw a sign in the JC Penney changing room that offered a free fitting... But, until now, I could really only shop at Victoria's Secret, as they were the only ones who carried my size (32C is a pain in the ass to find, I finally went up to 34C!!!), so I can't say much about other stores.
My bad..I had it done at JC Penney, not VS. I should have mentioned that..I'm not surprised VS charges for a fitting. And I just wore a sports bra, though honestly, I wouldn't care if I had to do it topless!
I've never been charged for a measuring at Victoria's Secret. The two times that I have been measured there, they actually gave me a discount.
I've never been charged for a fitting at Victoria's Secret either... Their bras are all like $40, but the fitting is free.
At least where I am any decent underwear store has staff that can provide a fitting service. I would suggest ringing around. A good fitting is only mildly embarassing. They can measure through a shirt and then they will look at the fit with various bras on.
