Can you get in to any trouble for tearing up, defacing, or stomping on a flag like the american or rebl flag in front of a courthouse or some other place in a city? Also can you burn a flag in public? I don't know if the police would deem burning a flag hazardous.

Some people are nutty 'bout their meaningless flags. Ya might get in trouble for destroying one.

I think flag burning is free speech. However, I've never burned one and I think it's silly to do it as protest.

#1- It doesn't accomplish anything other than pissing off a bunch people and making them really hate you and your cause.

#2- The government doesn't give a rat's ass, but you'll look like a jackass on the nightly news.

At the moment, you can legally burn a flag. Our illustrious representatives in DC, however, are again trying to change that. There is currently a bill (again) in Congress to try to make burning a flag a criminal act. My advice-find your nearest congressman, wrap him in a flag, and burn it while it's still legal!

Dude, burning the American and Rebel flags at the same time? Just be careful, they've got a ton of guns.

I agree. There are much better ways to get your point across. When you start doing things like that people look away from the cause, they look down on it...and isn't that the opposite of what you want? When I have been involved in a demonstration,it was to open the eyes of the people,to make them aware. It wasn't a demonstration to piss people off. That defeats the purpose.

You can do about anything to the Rebel Flag and no one will stop you, becuase anyone who does will automatically be labeled a racist.

Whats the point of flag burning? It just shows the persons idiotic mindset and how they have no other alternative way to express their feelings except through a violent manner. But please.. burn away. It's just another way to seperate out the mindless people I don't want to associate with.
