Very well said, all we can do is wait. Change may come in the twenty years or so though as our generation will come to power. Hopefully people with the same views as the people on this forum will come to power. There is nothing we can do about it yet...

We are slowly changing things. The truth about marijuana is comeing to light, people in power are starting to realize that its not actually as dangerious and evil as the propaganda makes it out to be.

 

Thats a good point, what I'm saying is hopefully a few potheads or a few rational people from our generation will go on to work for the government. The problem is most potheads arent interested in doing anything with the government or anything that involves the government. From what I have read and seen in old threads, most people in this forum seem to be pretty intelligent and do well in school. Easily a few could get through law school and go on to be in the state senate or have a position in the supreme court. But the problem is they dont want to. Also it seems that there are alot more liberal people in our generation than in previous ones, even though not all of them smoke, alot of them support decriminalization/legalization.

 

You also need to take in consideration that twenty years ago the first major anti-marijuana government propaganda started showing up. If you check the statistics for marijuana use among teenagers, the numbers dropped a considerable amount in the eighties. Also, in the sixties and seventies, when marijuana use was at its height, there was the "I'm not gonna work for the man" attitude, which I think has passed now.

Weed isn't going to become legal in the future because of our generation "seeing the light." There will never be enough political supporters to make it legal. It will never become legal for "our freedoms."

Weed will only become legal once 1) more liberal Presidents are elected for afew terms, and 2) they (and the public) finally realize that alot of fucking money (what was that latest estimate, $14 bil?) can be made from it. We need money if we wanna blow up other people's shit, afterall.....

 

Dude, alot of the public allready thinks weed should be made atleast available for medical purposes. what was it, like 80% of those polled? They were selected completly randomly, so its not like the poll was biased to our side.

The US government is gonna start losing credability real fast once we win that battle. There gonna have one hell of a hard time explaning why they denied marijuana had any medical use for the past decade.
