My crazy neighbor...

Well, here's an update.

Today he came over as I was letting my dog out and proceeded to yell at me. Big suprise.

Anyways, he ended up getting up in my face, threatening to "Drag you inside my apartment and beat the fuck out of you." kicking my dog, waving his fist at me, and generally making a major nuisance of himself.

I left a message with the landlord, then called the cops. I hate to call the cops, but when I can't go outside without being threatened what else am I supposed to do?

The cops showed up before long, and I told them the story of the neighbor from hell. I told them I didn't want to press charges so long as a peaceful solution could be reached, then they went over and talked to crazy neighbor. They gave him a warning and told me that if he harasses me again to give them a call.

Anyways, hopefully he will leave me alone, although I must confess that I am not certain that he will. The guy isn't exactly running on a full tank of gas.

But, from what I understand, he plans to move soon. Yesterday isn't soon enough.

Jeesus, I've had weird neighbors, but this guy is beyond anything I have had to deal with before. I think he wins the bad neighbor of the year award by a landslide.

 

He kicked your dog? I would have laid him out right then and there. fuck the law. why hasnt he had his ass beat yet?

 

Because If I get convicted of any felony or a misdemeanor assault, I can't get my FFL. There goes my career.

Trust me, if he so much as glares at me I'm calling the cops, who will arrest him for threat of violence and harassment. Of course, I have a loaded .45 with me inside, and I will open carry it outside, If he breaks into my house or I have reason to believe that my life is in danger, I have the legal right to shoot the sonofabitch. I hope I don't have to, but if he comes at me with a weapon or breaks into my house his ass is worm food. Hopefully the combined deterrent of a warning from the cops and a handgun sticking out of my belt will deter him from harassing me in the future, I really don't want to have to shoot the asshole.

 

Do surgery on his foot...that always gets 'em....

 

If the old guy thinks he has cancer, and is acting so psychotic, he may be scitz or supposed to be on meds. If activly psychotic and delusional, there is no convincing him otherwise. You may in the future call community mental health/psych services and tell them you feel he is "a danger to himself or others" and let them know he needs to be assesed psych if they wont help tell them you will call police and let them know you have contacted psych and there uncooperative and going to ask for police to take him to psych which if deemed psychotic, he will at the least be held on the emergency detention order for 72/hours.

If he has insurance the psych people will lock him up 10x faster than the police

yoke him up by his collar and throw him in your place. then you have every legal right to fuck him up. I wouldnt use a gun though. The fist provides way more satisfaction. and there has to be some sort of law that lets you defend your poor dog

 

That has to be the single most fucked up story I have ever heard. Wow.

According to this, the encounter I captured on tape (I managed to get an audio recording of him threatening me and kicking my dog) is only a class 3 misdemeanor, but I would like to see him go to court, it would be worth my time. Also, I'm pretty sure that kicking someone else's dog is illegal, I'd like to hit him up on that too if I can.
