.. but how that school goes over.. I want more and more and more study.. wtf is happening with me? Today, I was learning some Hungarian words.. and now I'm gonna translate some spanish ska songs.. then, I wanna write something in german.. and next year, I'll have Russian at school... so I wanna learn some words sooner... heh.. strange
i dont think thats strange, i think thats really great actually...being 16 and knowing tons of different languages is great...
by that band called SKA-P.. they're probly the best ska band I know..! (though they don't play together these day.. )
yeah, school makes me hate some subjects... for example English.. that our teacher is.. just... vrr!!! She wants us to talking about family and hobbies and.. bla bla bla.. again again and again.. why the fuck??? 4 yrs I don't talk about anything else than these stupid things..
Haha, I almost knew you were gonna say them. I loooooooooooooove Ska-P so much, their music rocks my socks. I'm just listening to Planeta Eskoria right now. One of my favourite albums ever.
I think that's awesome. You should never stop educating yourself, there's just way too much out there to learn. My 5 year old son is learning basic Spanish. He was the one who began to show an interest in it just from hearing a few words on Sesame Street. Now he's asking me to translate English words to Spanish for him. I don't know much Spanish myself, so I've had to rely on the internet. But , it's inspired me to learn more as well. In fact, now I've got my husband wanting to learn another laungage. I took French for a little while, but it was way back when I wasn't exactly interested in really learning anything (ahh, if I could go back in time), I just wanted the credits. My husband wants to learn to speak German.
hehe.. actually, sometimes I make a sentence with czech, slovakian, english and spanish words.. and i don't find it strange... just that nobody understands me..
heha... yeah..!! personally, I love Cannabis.. or Mestizaje.. or.. Villancico.. veinte y cinco la es navidad, todos juntos vamos a brindar...
that is so great!!! Your son has really great parents! My parents know just some russian words, because they had to learn russian, when they went to school, because our, those days, socialistic republic was connected with SSSR (=CCCP..) so.. they hated that language, because the HAD to learn it..
But me, now I'm studying fot he stupid thing we call a Baccaluareate and it's so damn pissing me off that i'm forced to study some crappy subjects on which my future depends...and it would be nice if i studied everything on my own and only the things i wanted, but it's so annoying that the school system always imposes what should be know and what is worthfull to know and leaves no freedom of choice whatsoever...or at least that's how it works in my country
I couldn't agree more Soulless Chaos. When I was in school, it was almost torture because it was incredibly boring at that time. I love to learn, but give it to me in a monotone fashion, suddenly I'd daydreaming and can't remember a word that was said. It's the same with my children. They all love to learn. They're like little sponges soaking everything up. My 5 year old has always been advanced, and I've worked with him since the day he was born. Not pushing at all, but making it fun, just like playing. Paying attention to his interests and giving him education on it. Education doesn't HAVE to be boring. I do a lot of fun experiments and lessons with them that seems like play-time, and not pounding things into them. I just kind of let them guide me into finding interesting and fun things to do with them. I know it's different when we're talking about high school students. But in some ways, it's not. More experiments and hands-on opportunities, more relating to the kids and how they perceive things at the age level in which they are at should be done. Sometimes I think some of our educators forget the joy of learning, and forget how to get others excited about it. Anyway.
*blushes* Thank you JanaXGirl. Yes, I'm sure with your parents, being pretty much forced to learn a laungage made it anything but enjoyable. I think with my oldest son, he sees learning new words in Spanish as a "secret laungage". To him, it's fascinating because he can say something that not everyone will know what it means, except for him. But I've also read numerous times that it is much easier for young children to learn different laungages than it is for adults. He also knows some basic sign laungage. My mother-in-law is a sign laungage interpretor and teaches him signs a lot. When he is over her house for visits, many times she has deaf children from the neighborhood over, and he is learning more how to interact with them just by watching his grandma and the other children interact. I know a little bit myself, but I'd like to learn more.
