Here are some good second-hand shops not just in my city, but in the whole county where I live. That would be Nevada County, California, USA Hospice Gift and Thrift (754 Zion Rd. Nevada City) Animal-Save Thrift and Treasures (10067 Joerschke Dr. Grass Valley) Cancer Aid Thrift Shop (317 S. Auburn St. Grass Valley) Grass Valley Blues (206 W. Main St. Grass Valley) There are a few more, but some are everywhere like Salvation Army or they're expensive consignment shops.
... thats why i'm asking for contributions... (this'll take some time/research you know) peace -shrimpgirl
Not Nevada the state, Nevada County in the state of California. That's where those are. This is a thread for people to list great second-hand shops in their area so if we ever travel, we'll always know where to find the good stuff. Just thought I'd clarify that.
The Nearly New shop Main Street, Ligonier, PA 15658...sometimes u can even find designer stuff because the people that own rolling rock beer donate their goodies! HUGS
There is a chain of awesome thrift stores in the South Dallas county and Ellis county area here in Texas. The stores are called "Soul's Harbor" The stores use the money they make for rehabilitation and all donations are free to them. They inturn sell clothes, books, records, brick-a-brack for a faction of what other thrift stores would sell them for. Basically if you go up with a big handfull of clothes they would probably charge $5-$10. DIRT CHEAP! My wife and I have furnished our whole house with items bought from them. Soul's Harbor Thrift Store 205 Brown Rd Ennis, TX 75119 Phone: (972) 875-7972 Souls Harbor Thrift Store 201 N Main St Ferris, TX 75125 Phone: (972) 544-9001 Soul's Harbor Thrift Store 613 N Highway 175 Seagoville, TX 75159 Phone: (972) 287-9298
i always check the yellow pages of the phone book when i'm in a new area. in canada, i usually find good bargains at the mcc thrift stores: http://www.mcc.org/respond/thrift_shops/province_cnd.htm that links to a list of all the mcc thrifts in the country. another good 'chain' of thriftstores is the St Vincent de Paul thrift stores. they're not totally anal like salvation army or goodwill. St Vincent de paul will actually GIVE stuff away to people who have nothing. i knew someone who was travelling and had her pack stolen. anyways, the st vincent people hooked her up with all new clothes and gear for free.

The Eager Beaver Wild Child The Harlequin (all in Dublin, Ireland) There's also a really cool second-hand shop in Montpellier, France, but I don't know the name. It's in the old part of the town...near the HI hostel, anybody know it?
