i haven't been able to watch it all the way through at one time, but i would really like to. i really liked it... now i want to watch it. i know there were a lot of things i didn't catch, because i saw some stuff in the behind the scenes action they were giving on tv at the time. all the details they put into the visual aspects of it, like the use of color. starting out drab and grey and keeping the main character isolated physically from everybody, then moving into more vibrant colors and more intimacy with the girl... yeah, i need to sit down and watch it
Probably one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time. The way it was shot and the seriousness of the plot just made it seem like you were there. Like they didn't leave anything out. It was an amazing movie.
shit shit shit its shit. i was just about to make a post warning people not to watch it. do you guys seriously like it? it was so boring,i understand its meant to be all art house like but theres no exuse for it to be so boring.
^I dont why i liked it so much, i just did. Everyone i know has very mixed feelings for this film. Some like it, some hate it.
I adored it. The acting was great, and the cinematography and the presentation of ideas was so perfect. It was just one of thoooose movies, you know. Kind of sad, in a sense, but at the same time just really fun and enjoyable. And Natalie Portman's character was so damn cute. Also. The soundtrack was absolutely mindblowing.
I couldn't agree with you more. It is one of those movies where you either love it or hate it. And it is great to feel either way because something like that can make you feel passionate.
yah definaitely an awesome movie, the part where he tries to swim always makes me laugh. yah and the soundtrack is really good as well.
I watched this for the first time yesterday. I love it. It reminded me of Lost in Translation, which in my opinion is a very good thing. I love the way it's shot. It's a very good looking movie if you know what I mean. I heard that Zach Braff - director, and plays Andrew Largeman - is into photography, so he tried paid a lot of attention to the composition of each shot and tried to make it all look really good as well as being an interesting story. The soundtrack is awesome. I've always loved The Shins, especially Caring is Creepy (which is played when Largeman gets on the motorbike). I first heard of them through a friend, who put their cd on when I was around at his place one day during our exams in our last year at high school, which was a pretty stressful time. I love the start of it, its so relaxing and made me so much happier and calm at that time.. Natalie Portman's character is so cute and funny. I couldn't stop smiling the whole way through. Definately one of the better movies I've seen lately
great movie. fairly original. The characters all played well off of each other. Great message which is missing in most of todays movies.
I haven't seen it yet, but I'm planning to. The trailer immediately attracted me, and I was really looking forward to see it, but I was very busy in that period (exames >_<). Anyway, it's vacation now, so I'll watch it soon.
ooh i absolutly love this movie i bought it before i even saw it cause i just knew i was gonna love it everything about was great the way it was shot was just incredible and some of it really was just so funny and adorable.
I finally saw the movie yesterday evening, and I'm really impressed. Garden State is intelligent, but also funny and very sweet. There are some scenes in it that I wanted to be made for yet a very long time. Zach Braff and Natalie Portman both did some great acting.
The soundtrack made the movie in my opinion, most people I've heard say they don't like the movie also point out that they hate the music. I like his combination of music and visual presentation, and having grown up in New Jersey, I thought he did a good job of presenting the overall feel of angst combined with humour that is characteristic of the Garden State. The ending is a bit sappy. Like the end of a Full House episode.
