My garage has a south facing window, which the sun shines threw almost continously, I live in Alberta and it gets very hot here, not super hot but like, we've had 35 dagrees C and stuff like that. I have a seed planted and all waiting for it to sprout and Im thinkin of having it sit in there for most of the summer, and at the end when the flowering is a few weeks in to put it under a red light to keep it super warm, not that it will already be really warm, but ya anywayz, what ya guyz think?
A. Pot needs more sun than it will get on a windowsill. B. To flower, pot needs at least 12 hours of continuos darkness every 24, same time, for 2 months (or more). If they get any light during lights off, even just for 1/2 minute, you won't get any buds.
6 hours of direct sun a day will grow a decent plant, but the window pane filters out some of the high end spectrum. "If they get any light during lights off, even just for 1/2 minute, you won't get any buds." This does not apply to lights below the luminosity of the full moon or green light.
hahaha Ill jus keep the window open, she sprouted today(well I hope its a she ) n ya I think the light should go 12/12 by itself in August or september I believe.
12/12 light is strictly in reference to indoor plants. Outdoor plants flower and usually mature, before 12/12 cycle is achieved in nature. For example, equal amounts of time between evening and morning "twilight" isn't reached untill October 22 in Edmonton, Alberta. http://www.sunrisesunset.com/calendar.asp
However, broken dark cycles(your garage light coming on during the dark period) will cause you problems. Either herophrodism or it won't bud at all, or both.
