Are men really instantly arroused just by seeing a little bit of skin? And when they see women in skimpy clothing, do they really automaticly think the women want to go ou twith them? My gym teacher(female) said all of this was true.

    1. No, I do not get "automatically aroused" whenever I see a little bit of skin. I'd definitely look, though. Whether or not I like what I see is another story.
    2. Again, no. I might want them to go out with me (probably even sleep with me), but that's not the same as assuming they will just because they're wearing skimpy clothes. Your gym teacher needs to grow up.

He's right. Your Gym teacher is foolish in thinking that way.

No guy is turned on by any female at all showing skin...you do not automatically have power over every man at all by just being a female

If a guy thinks a girl wants to go out with him just by the way she is dressed, he is likely a rapist.

She's got messed up ideas and are passing them on. This is part of the "dress in Taliban rules cause men can't control themselves" Christian mindbend

Did you're gym teacher also tell you that guys think about sex every 6 seconds? 'cause mine did. I spent half of middle school wondering how the boys got their homework done. [IMG]

I think it's safe to assume that your gym teacher was wrong. I think it's safe to assume my gym teacher was wrong, too.

I spent half of middle school not getting my homework done.

I wouldn't go as far as the teachers advice, but I think some degree of awareness about how boys/men are a bit sensitive to the sight of girlflesh isn't entirely a bad thing.

Some of us are kinda' horndoggish and many of us have rather active sexual imaginations. I hope most of us keep things in perspective, but it doesn't hurt to know that you need to keep your eyes open, and watch out for the few men/boys that could get out of line.

Believe me, that biological imperative happens at 12-13 but rapidly fades, when you realise that you aren't going to get any, and in order to get any, you're going to have to deal with the opposite gender, whose priorities are different to yours.

I don't think it's a big deal that guys think about sex a lot. It's not like I don't. I may think about it less than the average guy, I don't know, I'm not a guy, but I do think about it. That's human. As long as you still treat people with respect and don't go around grabbing at things that aren't yours, I don't see what the problem is.

Thoughts are not wrong. Actions are wrong.

He is true that they do, for a bit. But after the Beavis/Butthead ages (12-14) it gets tamed quite a bit.

Funniest thing I ever saw was a female friend of mine who had a tumor on a gland somewhere and therefore enough test in her system to fuel the Bulgarian weightlifting team. She had male pattern baldness and a MONSTROUS libido I mean it was FRIGHTENING to watch. Of course, the muscles and bald head meant she didn't get very much response from the young men around her.... and she was literally climbing the walls. I was like "yeah, that's all of us at 12".

Your gym teacher was over exagerating. It is important to realize that not all males are the same and are, in fact, very different in many instances. It would be a great error to be convinced differently.

c'mon, you know that not all men get aroused by seeing a little female skin... absolutes are no good. there are plenty of gay men out there to disprove your gym teachers claim. while that one is obvious, there are lots of other examples, such as his relation to the woman. for example, seeing your grandma in a bikini is not a turn on (for most people, at least). your moms skin or your baby sisters skin... not so "instantly arousing." and other people are just not so attractive. some people are arousing in clothes that fit, but are wreched in skimpy clothes. some men find a classy or artsy or funky or natural girl more attractive than a girl who dresses like a slut. the more you think about it, the more you realize just how silly it is.

was your gym teacher trying to say that straight and bisexual men are all instantly aroused by a snippet of skin from a woman who fits the stereotype of beauty in u.s. culture -- tall, stupid, anorexic, blonde, rich, big-boobed, etc? hopefully everyone knows that not all guys are attracted to paris hilton's doppelganger.

I'm not attracted to Paris Hilton at all, the skanky drip-dry ho. Jesus, she'd trip you up and be underneath you before you hit the floor. Scrawny, nondescript face and Barbie-features with an empty brain. No thanks.

Men aren't really aroused by seeing the skin, but it is an indicator that the girl wants to be sexualy active in our society, because only some girls want to have sex at a young age, and all the boys sort of swarm around those girls.
