hey all. My computer is not recognizing the dvd drive. I put a dvd in the hard drive and I go to my computer and click dvd drive and then just nothing i have a blank screen. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated. ~Fallen Fairy~
the dvd drive does show up under my computer? have you tried more than one dvd? what OS are you running?
Ahem. Do you have a DVD player program installed? Like maybe... PowerDVD? Or Nero media player? You DO need a decoder of some kind.
that's true, but I think she said nothing shows up at all under 'my computer' the name of the dvd should atleast show up i think VLC media player will play dvds just fine
need more input: what type of OS do you use, are your flat cables properly connected to the dvd and motherboardboard it could be the cause of various things.
I have tried more than one dvd. I do have a dvd program installed in my computer. I am not too sure what an OS is and if my flat cables are connected. Thanx
alright, "I go to my computer and click dvd drive and then just nothing i have a blank screen." could you elaborate a bit more on that? does the dvd drive change to the name of the movie? will the dvd drive read a regular cd? what do you mean "blank screen"?
Trotsky, I think she means like an empty directory on that device. I get that now & then too. I leave the CD in the drive, and do a restart. It reads just fine after that, as long as the CD isn't bad. VLC isn't bad at all1 Like you posted once, it plays the files WHILE you download them.
ahh..now I got ya. that happensto me sometimes too, i get a blank screen or explorer just crashes. here's the link to VLC media player fallen fairy, http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ if you don't know what OS you're on, try opening your start menu, it should say along the left hand side.
hey, chill! i'm not making fun of you, it's true; restarting does fix a large amount of computer problems.
