this morning i am going to the beach. it will be my dreadies first ocean wash. i have had my dreads for about 7-8 months now. i have heard from friends that it makes your dreadies mad tight and clean. with my thinning roots problem(earlier post) i hope this will help. i also bought some sea salt to mix with water to spray on my head during the week to help my roots along. how much sea salt should i ad to water? i don't want to add too much salt.

I started my dreads out by dunking them in salt water...I did a 3:1 ratio of water to salt. I have yet to take a trip to the ocean since I've had mine...let us know how it goes!

well i've just gotton back from the beach and let me say how good the ocean makes your locks feel, except for being a little dry. it my case the dryness may be because they were dry to begin with. the water... COLD, COLD, COLD. when i finally decided to go for it and just go under, when i came up i was out of air and wasn't sure at first which direction i was facing. i was under maybe for 10 seconds, tops.

is there something i can use prevent dryness? a specific type of alloe or something? (wax is the road better less traveled.)

so i decided to bring some of the ocean back with me to spray on my locks during the week. i assume this will only help, right?

    spread happiness,
    ryan

like isaid the dryness is probaby due to the fact that my knots were somewhat dry to begin with. my dreads were dry by the time i got home. they stayed wet just as long as with showering.

i just finally gave mine an ocean bath. the water was 53 degree Faren and whoa... it was pretty cold, but not that cold so i went in a few times. i kept dunking my hair and loving it. it kinda made my hair softer, it werid, my dreads are unraveling themselves and coming together by themselves, like they got minds of their own. i had to stop backcombing cuz it seems couterproductive. oh well, i love them!!!!!!! i hope to hit the beach more this summer... tho my boss told me to not go surfing before work... or else ill come in with red eyes, and thats no good. my boss is weird.
    oh well... peace&love

I just got back from Bonnaroo and the beach. My dreads have tightened up so much. The ocean def. helps the dreadies!
