first time i saw that it was with my cousins when i was very young in sunny south africa, it was the episode where they encounted legion and he cut listers apendix out... yeah the newer ones suck, too much computer graphics bad plot lines. the old trashy models and stuff were totaly richtous...
The British one ruled, and I thought the american one was just a pilot series... Anyway yeah series 3,4 and 5 are best!
I loved this show. They used to show it on PBS here but I haven't seen it in awhile. My only disapointments was that Mr.Flibble only made one appearence and Rimmer left the show for awhile.
I read the trascript for the pilot episode of the American version of RD. It blew major donkey dick. The cat was actually going to be a woman (The spotted chick from Star Trek Deep Space 9). The site where I read it actually had production shots of the american version. They blew as well. I'm glad it got 86'ed. I kinda wonder if the movie that they talked about will ever happen. Plus I thought it was pretty stupid how they brought the crew back. They should have left them dead. Tigerlilly, If you ever come by to visit, I have a few episodes on tape. The books are really good as well.
I met and talked to Craig Charles of Red Dwarf in a local pub and asked what his favourite episode was, he said ''Four Guns of the Apocalypse''. I can remember bits of it, but it's not my favourite. Mines the one where everything goes backwards.lol
My favourite series is probably series 6. It peaked then. Really found a formula. 7 and 8 were just shit though.
