I was browsing through my uncle's albums. I came upon a record titled "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band". I was thrilled to find a great record like that. But I was looking at the top of it and it listed some artist. It had Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Earth Wind & Fire, Peter Frampton, and the Bee Gees. My uncle told me that it was the movie soundtrack. Now I have never heard of a Sgt. Pepper.. movie. Any comments?
I've actually never heard it but I do remember a website that featured a top 10 or 20 reviews of the worst albums of all time and this one was in there. I may have actually got the link from someones post on this forum. I'll post it here if I come across it again because the webpage was very amusing and so was the write up about this album.
When I finally get new speakers for my sound system I'm not sure if I want to listen to this album.. Oh well, at least it's named after a good album .
it was a pretty bad movie......i found it years ago in the library's collection of movies.......steve martin does a good maxwell's silver hammer though......
This is it I think http://www.corporatemofo.com/stories/031127bestfromworst.htm Incidentally when I googled the Sgt Pepper soundtrack with worst album in the search there was quite few a similar sites with worst album lists that featured this one, sounds like one to avoid buying , but might be fun if you've already got a copy
I remember that this movie was in the bottom 100 (the worst movies of all time) of the internet movie database (imdb.com). Now it's out of the list. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078239/ (rating: 3.6!)
The film came out in the very late 70's. An extremely terrible film having to do with lost innocence and redemption. The main actors were the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton. George Burns had a bit part along with narration. Every one else were cameros, including with Steve Martin.
Hey guys.. I simply ADORE this movie. It has so many bad reviews which is very sad for me.. I love Peter Frampton, and I also love the Bee Gees.. Along with Billy Preston and Aerosmith... This movie is wonderful.. and includes a favorite comedian, Steve Martin.. He had me crying from laughter when he sung "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." Yes, It is off the wall, but it's supposed to be, and it's hillarious to me.. My parents also enjoyed it when they saw it.. And it's wonderfull how they wrote a story using only the beatles songs.. I would die to find that album.. You are very lucky in my opinion.. Comming soon I am going to go buy the dvd... And mabye the soundtrack as well.. Of course.. I tend to like a few things most people disagree on.. Just letting you know my opinion.. Peace&Love Sara
this album is fucking horrible, i didnt even finish it. i thought it would be good, despite the fact i read so many bad reviews.... the bee gees?! what the fuck was i thinking... easily one of the worst albums i've ever heard, if not the worst one ever. atleast you didnt waste any money on this movie, or any of your life either. i suggest burning the album (fire..).
Dont burn it.. Sell it if you dont want it... I know there are others out there whom would loved to have this album...
lol, Rolling Stone had an article a while back about the 50 biggest meltdowns in rock history...This was up there. Apparently the bee gees said something about how 'kids today' (meaning the 70s) don't remember the original album, so with the realease of the frampton/beegees version it would be as if the beatles' one had never existed...ahahaha, so delusional....
Well, the Beatles are my favorite band in he world..I'm a real Beatlemaniac.. But I still enjoyed this soundtrack a lot... The movie in my opinion was real cool.. But it seems everyone hates it.. Oh well.. doesn't change my mind about it.. Peace&Love
chuck...the album is good just for novelty reasons... and i bet the Aerosmith Come Together is worth the 25 ¢ that anyone would pay for the album...and Alice Cooper's Because is...interedting its a bad movie, but funny none the less...annoying quite a bit at many parts...i specially like the part at the end when it gets all depressing and deep haha...oh my, i think i may go watch it now...i recorded it off satalite [free satelite, dont worry]
