I saw a few peoplemention doing this

what exactly did you do to get them to join up aside from combing the two out and starting them over?

rubber band at root or somethign? i've got 2 in the back of myhead that are too thin and because of that get really curly as my hair normally would before the dreads. its not bothering me that much but i want to join it together before the others start thickening up and leaves those two behind not even locking up

wrap hemp around the base, leave it there for a while, then take it off,the rest will lock itself, if you arent patient enough for the rest to locks itself wrap the whole thing in hemp, but not too tightly because the hair has to have room to move around so it will lock up.

I used embroidery thread and a needle, and just kind of sewed 'em together. :p I thought the thread looked kind of cool, but if you don't want it, then just use stuff that's the same color as your hair. What grows in will dread by itself and it'll look completely normal.
