its weird how people are so afraid of germs ya know, like that get on your feet. but then they go and touch everything and they dont know were its been! how do you know how the cook is preparing your meal? how do you know he didnt drop something on the floor or somethin. feet is the last thing i would think about. but i think ok, resturants i guess you have to wear shoes idk why but regular stores... yea go barefoot haha

here in leicestershire in england, goin barefoot is really seen as a taboo, like you're walking around with your cock hanging out or something. me, i like it, i feel less constrained and more open and free. most of my friends dont seem to mind, but a barefooter would get no end of stares and rude comments out in public, like in the town and wherever. in leicester (the city itself) the ppl are more tolerant, i have even been in a shopping centre - me, my girlfriend and my male best friend all walked in barefoot. the floors there are smooth marble, really clean and cool. however the area where i live isnt clean enough to wander around barefoot, i just do it around my house and my garden (ie no broken glass, syringes, dog shit, etc)
i wear sandals a lot in the summer, so does my girlfriend, she loves the feeling of grass between her toes (and i love massaging her feet - soo beautiful!!!)
but i digress - i like being barefoot because i can never seem to find a pair of shoes that fit - even made-to-measure ones are uncomfortable. my fave sandals are a pair of 4-year-old birkenstocks - so comfortable now that ive worn them in.

    Peace

I don't go barefoot for any reasons really. I've just always went barefoot...indoors I am barefoot, outside in the winter and summer, even when I work in the gardens here I am barefoot....that's just what's comfy to me. So naturally,I go out into public barefoot sometimes....I don't mind wearing shoes though,if I am going out,but they come off as soon as possible. It's not really planned...just whatever happens at the moment.

I always go barefoot.... but people tend to be like "you werido".. but they understand i guess... Soon as they look at the reswt of me.. .but Last week i went on a music trip and we went for a walkign thing and they made me but sandals on and I was mad about it.. but they assured me it would be safer if i had something on my feet. So i gave in and wore some sandals but on the adventure i slipped on a rock and got a real bad injury.. it wouldn't of happend if i was in bare feet..! arg.. they felt bad tho!

Most people who go barefoot are careful to watch out for such things though and many have tough soles on their feet so it would be unlikely theyd get any HIV.

Nice trollin' there :p But just in case you or anyone else is truely concerned about such a thing, the odds of such a thing are extremely low. First of all glass isn't near as great a danger as most people think; in eight years of daily barefooting everywhere I've never had a serious cut and even rarely had a tiny splinter drawing the smallest bead of blood. Second, the odds of any random piece of glass being infected with HIV is extremely low as well, for it'd have to have been in contact with someone else's blood a relatively short time prior to you stepping on it, and additionally that person would've had to be infected. The odds of all these things happening together are really, really low; certainly only a tiny fraction of say, the odds of getting into a serious car accident. Of course even the strangest string of coincidences *can* theorethically happen, and probably at some point of time, out of all people across the world someone, somewhere, will probably at some time walk in exactly the wrong place and get a serious cut on an infected piece of glass... but the actual risk of that happening to any one person in particular is so small I don't even have to think twice about taking it. The risk to get hit by a car when crossing the street is many times greater, and if you stay at home you never know, the roof might come down or something. :p

Any one with half an education knows HIV cannot survive on an exposed surface for more than a few hours. If you step on a piece of glass and get HIV, well, the fates had it in for you in the first place - odds of you being struck by lightning twice in the same minute are higher than that happening.

I just vote with cash spent. So far in Albany, Stewart's and the Playdium Laundromat are out as far as barefoot tolerant. Won't patronize them again. Radio Shack on Delaware Ave.? Totally cool...

I agree - if you won't take my $ because I'm not wearing shoes, I simply spend my $ with someone who doesn't care.

To me, going barefoot isn't a big deal at all.
I've always done it just, naturally....
However, that's what makes it a deal...
When I walk into certain places I get asked to leave, or find proper footwear, etc. because places around here are tight like that... people around here just have major sticks up their asses. I live in a small town, with basically no crime and no excitement, so I guess they feel they have to find SOMETHING to complain about.

    Thank you...
I am a 24/7 barefooter, but as I said I get kicked out of places for that a lot of times, so if I really must go into a certain place then sometimes I'll swallow my pride and put on sandals. I dont even know if I own a pair of closed toe shoes... ?:p

    lol awww....

my feet have such strong soles from walking EVERYWHERE barefoot, gravel especially. I've always done it though... When I was little and we went camping I used to walk through the campgrounds' gravel roads casually without a problem. I FEEL PROUD TO HAVE STRONG FEETIES! :sunglasse

myself I have to go through the process of building up my tolerance year upon year. I'm nearly there for this summer, and should be ready for any hot weather I encounter by the time I go on holiday to Ibiza in July.

Wow! So you are a 24/7 barefooter? Cool! Where do you live, how is it possible for you to be barefoot all the time, everywhere, in all the weather?

BTW, strong soles are sexy in a pretty girl, it's cool that you have tough soles and that you are proud of them.

    Keep toughening them up!

    Regards

    DG
