I've half-watched the movie (I'm ashamed to say I fell asleep!) and really enjoyed it. Gonzo journalism's fantastic, I really ought to find out more about it.

Ah.. fear and loathing. I am proud to say that not only have I read the book and seen the movie countless times, but I could also reccommend some other great peices of gonzo journalism!!

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, is an exaggeration of one of the many outrageous memories of H.S.T (may he rest in peace :(). EXAGGERRATED... but based upon truth. ;)

I have watched it all fucked up on shrooms, LSD, Ecstacy (couldn't sit still and watch it then) and whatever else has come across my path.

All in all please look beyond the hardcore superhero drug usage, and the extravegant style that they lived in Las Vegas- all for free. It really is about the American Dream. Listen to the references in between the craziness. Listen to him talk about how 1965 was a beautiful time that may never come again. Listen to him descibe the feeling people had. And at the very end, listen to him talk about the aftermath and where to go from there. In the midst of his unruly behavior, he was a pretty damn smart man.

If you like it, I would suggest reading Rum Diaries, Kingdom of Fear, The Great Shark Hunt, and Songs of the Doomed (my personal favorite). There are others, but I am too lazy to look them up this second. ;)

For those who really aren't into books, rent Where the Buffalo Roam. Like Johnny Depp, Bill Murrey was a good friend of HST, which is why he chose Murrey to play himself. Same with Depp in Fear and Loathing.

I think Depp does a better job.

it was at this beach on Lake Erie. The sand on the beach is so soft. I had some good Lucy left over from Summer Camp and I had so much fun playing on the beach like a little kid!

It really was a good time. One for the books! :)

Well, my grandparents live right near the beach and there is a trail behind their house that leads down to it, it's so awesome, no one ever goes there, so, we pretty much have our own private beach. And eventually if you walk long enough on presque isle you'll come to places where there are no lifeguards and it's pretty desolate. I love it there..
