I visited a new thrift store here today for the first time. It was the best thrift store I have been to here in Denver so far!!!! Their prices were so cheap and they were loaded with tons of cool stuff!!! Oh man, I was visited by the thrift store fairy today!!!! Check this out: I got the table, the sewing machine, and this fat pile of fabric for $25 total!! AND the sewing machine works great!!!!! What a find, I just can't get over it!!! I AM STOKED!
That's awesome! I wish the thrift stores around here were even so much as decent.....no point in even going, it's all crap.
That is awesome! There aren't any good thrift stores here. I went to a new one the other day, she had her patterns marked $2.50 each. They weren't even really old or anything. So disappointing. But, you did great! BTW--I only have a couple of boys patterns, I will put them in an envelope and send them out soon.
Okay Jessica...... no rushing, and I'm putting a fresh batch of brownies in the oven today. Should be able to send them tommorrow **fingers crossed** we'll see on the funds, but most likely!! Thanks Hun!! Lena
What a great find! I was at Salvation Army the other day and they have an antique Singer. I was drooling over it (not that I need another machine). They didn't have a price on it and they won't sell anything that doesn't have a price already listed. Blah..... It was beautiful!
you guys are lucky, charity shops are getting so expensive recently in england. we used to get loads of clothes there when i was a kid but at the moment i can't actually afford their prices, they are more expensive than some normal clothes shops, like £10 for a pair of trousers (which i guess is about $20). it sucks! i thought charity shops were not only for the charities that benefit but also for people who don't have a lot of money to spare to get cheap clothes. oh well. i keep looking...
we have a few thrift stores around here, but if you want something good you have to dig for a while. eventually, that fabric that you've been wanting will turn up.
