Weezer - Possibly the greatest band ever?

Yeah, Pinkerton is my personal favourite album, although I like all the unreleased stuff they made too.

 

the good life is possibly one of the best songs ever. i love pinkerton

 

Weezer is far from being anything great. Sorry, but they suck.

 

Well everybody has different tastes in music, i tought you'd know that ...

 

I do know that. But weezer just isn't that great, no matter how you look at it.

 

I think weezer belongs on the most overrated band list.

 

i thoguht there first three albums were pretty good. This new one i havnt heard yet and i didnt like maladroit or watever it was called.

 

they are good, but they aren't anywhere near being the greatest. wtf, go take music appreciation again..

 

They arent nearly as good as some of the 60s/70s bands such as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, etc. Nobody can compare to them

 

Pinkerton's where it's at. That album gets better and better with every listen.... the first album's not too bad, but it sounds too processed for me. All their other stuff I'm not overly crazy about, although there are some unreleased songs I wish they'd release. I want Blast Off!!

 

Yeah Blastoff came from their "Songs from the Black Hole" Rock Opera, which got cancelled, but yeah they should release it!
And as for the weezer-haters, that's fine, I respect your opinion even if you are stuck in a time bubble, don't get me wrong I lLOVE bands like Zeppelin, Who, Floyd, as well as people like Jeff Buckley and Bowie. But for me weezer swings it that bit more, maybe it's the fact I relate to their geekishness, maybe it's just that it's catchy, either way I personally think they kick all other bands asses.

 

other than beatles and the experience, the other two you just mentioned are extremely overrated.. and im sure you dont know much if at all about the aforementioned two.

ah but hey, youre a "hippie", y'all dont know anything when it comes to music outside of the 60s.

 

Buddy Holly, Beatles and Weezer... give me them and I'd be happy.
