Oasis are refusing to sign another record deal after the release of new album Don't Believe the Truth, because they are keen to bask in their decade of success. Oasis could reportedly receive up to £15m to produce another three LPs - but they are set on remaining unsigned because they enjoy the freedom of not dealing with a money-orientated record company. Noel said: "It's not something I want to get involved in. The only thing a label in England can offer us is money, and we don't need any of that. "We've got our own studios so we can finance our own records. For the rest of the world it would be essential. It's liberating to sit here and know I haven't got a record deal." http://www.chartsingles.net/news/music-news/749/ hoo-fuckin-rah. i didnt think i could love them anymore than i all ready did.
somewhat related, Don't Believe the Truth is #1 in the UK top 40 and Morning Glory is #26... 11 years after its release!! hahaha!
I think Skelter's right... You really do talk way too much about Oasis. Well, that is pretty awesome/crazy...
i take pride in it. :H i didn't know you liked them. but yeah, don't believe the truth came out last tuesday... in my opinion, its their best album yet! its not even in the billboard top 100, stupid americans.. but hey, i think mariah carey is #1 over here, it goes to show just how much america values real music.
You know what Soul? I reckon your a lot like Noel, haha. You can take that as an insult or compliment.....
lmfao... i write more like noel, but ive got the cocky arrogance of both. :H but unlike liam, people can understand me when i speak..
whooop! im getting the album today! cant wait to see how good it is haha ah my dad saw noel the other day buying a newspaper didnt get an autograph though
omfg.... if i could see him with my own eyes, thatd be like the happiest moment of my life..... lucky dad.
lol indeed , my pa needs to grow a backbone! i would jumped all over noel's ass for an autograph next time i'll make sure he gets one (thats if i dont see him first hehe)....maybe one for soulrebel51 too
imo, oasis are still the best rock band of today. hey soulrebel, what are your favourite oasis songs? here's my top-15: 1. cigarettes and alcohol 2. the hindu times 3. champagne supernova 4. some might say 5. you've got the heart of a star 6. don't look back in anger 7. stay young 8. shakermaker 9. live forever 10. stand by me 11. listen up 12. fucking in the bushes 13. going nowhere 14. cloudburst 15. sunday morning call i haven't listened enough to their new album yet so no songs from that album in my list. So far it's my least favourite album, but i think that'll change. I just saw Oasis on the news. They did a gig saturday in my country (in brussels), but unfortunately i wasn't there, the tickets were sold out too quick. Maybe next time...
fuck yeah theyre still the best band making music today! my top 15... hmm 1. The Masterplan 2. You've Got the Heart of a Star (the most underrated oasis song ever) 3. Guess God Thinks I'm Abel 4. Mucky Fingers 5. The Importance of Being Idle 6. Songbird 7. Sad Song 8. Fade Away 9. Round Are Way 10. Let's All Make Believe 11. All Around the World 12. Don't Look Back in Anger 13. Stop Crying Your Heart Out 14. Half the World Away 15. Let There Be Love i forgot a bunch, oh well. ive been listening to the newer stuff (last 5 years) lately. it gets so many bad reviews, but imo its every bit as good as their songs from their first 3 years.. it doesnt have the attitude that liam sang with back then, but the songwriting is much more complex and noel's doing more vocals now, which i just love... i think be here now is their only "bad" album, and the only bad songs they ever recorded are "d'you know what i mean" and "won't let you down".
i agree that be here now is there worst album (don't go away is just awful), but i've never heard of wont let you down, is that a b-side?
yeah, it's a b-side to "lyla". i dont think "don't go away" is bad (i've got a live version of the song which is so fucking great), but that whole album seems to be nothing but noel's left-over songs, and whatever was newly written for the album is filled with more ego (in a bad way) than even it's only rock 'n' roll. and "all my people right here right now, d'you know what i mean?"... wtf were they singing that for? but "all around the world" is awesome, and i also like "the girl in the dirty shirt," "its getting better (man!!)," and "i hope i think i know." i hardly ever listen to anything else from the album.. thats when their b-sides started to take a downfall too.
