i'm in a situation where i have no idea what to listen to.. i want a new band but i dont kno who. i like Led Zeppelin, AFI, Smile Empty Soul, and Green Day. i have been experimenting but have gotten nowhere from christian bands like Skillet and Spoken (not heavy enough) to Thursday and Silverstien (which in my opinion where ok but they yell a lot). does anyone hae any suggestions Please help it would be great.
I go thru that everyday, esp. when you have the record collection from hell. What I like to do is called record I-Ching, I'll walk up to a box of albums and pull something out at random. Makes for some interesting listening.

since you like Smile Empty Soul and AFI. check out CKY. You won't hear em on the radio or tv, but its real good music.
if you want to "experiment" and are looking for something on the more qwerky side i suggest: medeski martin and wood black tape for a blue girl the detroit experiment lemonjelly catch 22 qntel theatre of tragedy (lame name but good music) mogwai save ferris skinny puppy elliot smith the aquabats they all are REALLY different from eachother so i hope you find something.... also ani difranco, tori amos and jimi, janis, pink floyd and all those guys of course...good luck
www.theblackkeys.com The flash intro is enough to get you hooked. At least it was for me. That was a great list of artists you mentioned, Alice!
