What did you think about it? I thought it's a really good movie, in the preview Orlando Bloom made me hesitate but now he's proved he can carry the movie as a leading actor. Also nice is the cast, not just a selection of Hollywood celebrities. Nice to see that unknown talent gets a chance.
kingdom of heaven is very popular with islamic groups like cair, which must be good news for the director because if he had made a film that upset islamists even if it was true he would have been targeted, like the late mr van gogh and killed The muslims in the film are shown as being bent on co-existence with the nasty christians coming in and causing trouble . This misses out the whole subject of jihad and dhimmitude ( thats the secondclass status of non muslims in islamic states ). its a unfair picture of the period ,the crusades were in response to hundreds of years of jihad the crusades were defensive
I really liked it, It really put a lot into perspective for me (like religious issues, and how we still have problems with them today) I was skeptical of Orlando Bloom, but he seemed to do a good job...
I think the movie was ok...and it's still a film we can relate to even though the story actually is like a 1000 years old....hopefully it will make reflect over why we got wars and why we actually fight?
I saw a deal on tv about the making of the movie and the history in it. Then I went and saw it and it made me really interested in the topic. If you read up on it it is no wonder things are so hectic in that part of the world. I really enjoyed the movie, and yeah Orlando Bloom did ok. I was worried as well. I say thumbs up. It was definantly a different perspective.
if its making you people understand religous issues and events, and the storys biased and fake and most of the stuff you see about the subject on tv is biased and fake . well your understanding is likely to be biased and fake .
this is theo van gogh he was murdered for making a film which was a little bit critical of islam so you need to understand that your not going to get a film made that shows the truth of the crusades .... if you want someone to demonise your going to attack christians because you can mock them or discount the fact that they were the ones being attacked and enslaved and your not going to get killed for it .
