As a kid you might have had a teacher threaten to put something on "your permanent record". Maybe your parents told your they're concerned that if you keep acting this way it will go on "your permanent record". Of course, we all know by now there's no such thing as a permanent record. Or is there? With all these computers around isn't it entirely possible they could get ahold of all your records from school or any organizations you belong to? Keep them in a small computer file, accessible with your social security number? Could it be they know all about the time in the sixth grade you got caught drawing pictures of naked women on the walls in the boys' room? No, of course not.
No but I did access a computer's online database once in the nurse's office while she was out during a fire drill and it did have semester grades, major test results from end of the year/exams, and absences. Oh well, I'm homeschooled now, but the county still doesn't get the hell off of my back.
My school has permanent records all on a computer >.> It has absences, tardies, grades, and any discipline/counseling problems throughout all of middle and high school. Good thing I've never been in trouble, but it's not like they really matter anyway.
i've never gotten into any deep shit at school, so i guess i have nothing to worry about, but my friend joc thinks i'll be caught with eitghteen-hundred different types of drugs before i'm outa school, but i'm not that much of a dumbass. are the permanent records just something teachers try to freak us out with? becuz the kids who get stuff put on their record always seem to be the ones who don't care. peace & love.
I got kicked out of a highschool when I was a sophmore, then I wouldn't say droup out; but went on home school when I was a senior at my last highschool and graduate on that. When I fill out an application for a job I have to put the last school as was in that I got my my diploma from. I kept getting suspended when I was a freshman at this rich school. They finally kicked me out when I spit on a teacher. 90% of the students at the school were stuck up rich kids. I got tired of them treating me like shit because I was different. Oh well, atleast I'm done now and in college.
well they use to just sick back when someone would punch me in the stomach. then when i would punch the kid back they'd make me suffer the consequences instead of them, so i spit on the bitch. i admit it. i'm a low class scumbag because i've been raised to get revenge when someone won't stop fuckin with me. no one ever listened to me when i was trying to do the right thing.
my highschool is really behind as far as computer systems are concerned. My permanent record is still in a manilla folder, pasted together and held together with paperclips. It's funny.
its all bullshit they had to send my records to a tech school so i could get in, i dont have one grade over a 40 about 25 absences,and like 15 class skips and i still got in.
'sounds like a high school age thread. I loved "high" school (over 20 years ago), 'cause that's what I did, 'got high...then I got older,went to college, went to college again for graduate ("high") school. The point is that now they got serious computers, everyone knows everything about everyone... ...The information base is huge these days, so you wanna make it look good for yourself, at least when you're young. When you get old like me, you realise it's easy to work around the system, just keep a low profile and be cool...K?
I hope that permanent record is a bunch of balogney, coz otherwise I may not be able to get into college and learn how to fight the establishment where it hurts them the most, but if the permanent record is true "they" might know that I have been expelled for possesion
I saw the folder with all the shit they had about me, none of my violent outbursts were listed, none of my making things unpleasant for teachers, nothing, just how wonderful and fucking brilliant I was...... a permanant record is bullshit, you are no more than your transcript..
yea man... i had to get in a "Fancy" "High" school like 5 months ago and they had this red folder with all the shit i had supposedly done but nuffen was in it but copies of all my grades and whatnot. and they let me in but it sux her >.<. i miss por people school
When I was at school I was a good student until the last year. I don't think we actually have a permenant record, yeah there's one for absenses, but thats it. However, some schools have a folder which has a bunch of completed work and random stuff about us in, and that sometimes gets passed onto another school if you transfer. I think 'permenant records' are just horse crap, at least, at my old school. They were way too disorganised!
