whats your favorite movie and why? im trying to find an awesome movie to watch. if its not too much trouble give a brief summary of it. mine is The Notebook. i love this movie because it is a romance and its really sad. but its such a good story about people who are meant for each other and endure all sorts of things.
almost famous - it's about a 15 year old aspiring rock n' roll journalist in the 70's. he doesn't fit in with his classmates and he into his own while touring with a group.... great rock film, with lots of references to led zeppelin and stuff. dazed & confused - last day of school in 1976... story of a bunch of kids in high school, easy to identify with. garden state - bit of a chick flick but i liked it, it's about a depressed/numb actor going back to his home state (new jersey) for his mother's funeral and just kind of waking up. fight club - doubt you'd like it but it's used to be a kind of weird mildly philisophical before the movie. brad pitt stars in it, so you could just stare at him for a while if that suits you? that's all i got...
Titus - Yeah, it's Shakespeare, but it's not lame and cheesy and stupidly modernized like the other Shakespeare movies. It's really twisted. And the imagery is so beautiful. And Anthony Hopkins is even better as Titus than Hannibal Lector. My other fovorites are pretty known though: Dr. Strangelove is definately good....Charlie and the Chocolate Factory....Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas....Labrynth.....House of 1000 corpses......Lord of the Rings.......The Corporation......Requiem For A Dream.....T2......Alien.....Half Baked.....The Exorcist..... Ooooooo - Open Water is really good. Two Divers stranded a couple miles off shore, stuck in a current, getting weaker, the sharks getting closer, slow mental break-down...this movie made me so anxious. You feel like you're there with them. It's fucked..... Waking Life is really good too...It's officially about Lucid Dreaming, but it deals with all different levels of philosophy. The whole movie was filmed first, then animated by several different teams...
half-baked......3 friends try to sell weed to get their buddy out of jail......this movie is funny as hell......you must watch it gia......angelina jolie completely nude....what more could i say
Fight Club - everything about it is just so damn amazing, all of the philosophical stuff is so true even though easily misinterpretted (damn I butchered that word, I need sleep), and the idea behind is just so fuckin' crazy genius, plus it is sooooo funny
office space ~ if you've ever worked in a corp office setting then you'll probably relate to it and the movie's just so funny. I haven't met anyone so far who didn't like the movie. Hysterical Blindness ~ it's an HBO movie (drama) but it's with Uma Thurman and Juliette Lewis (my two fav actresses) and it's about 2 best friends and their lives in the 1980's. The story is more centered on Uma's character and she plays a needy, sort of desperate for someone to love her kind of girl. Her acting in the movie is fabulous~ i think she even won an award or something. Dancer in the Dark ~ if you like bjork then you've probably already seen it but it's a musical (I personally hate musicals but it's all Bjork so that alone makes it great) and she plays a women named Selma...a blind women who has a big imagination. There is a shocking ending and it's quite a serious, emotion provoking film. But Bjork's in it so that's reason enough
