Nudity should be promoted everywhere. By suppressing nudity, it can lead to social problems such as violence, rape, etc. That why there are more rapes in sexually and nude repressed nations such as the USA. In Canada, Japan and most Euporean countries there are less rape and less violence because they are less prudish. After all we all born nudists (We weren't born with our clothes on). We were also all born atheists. It's only when we are 2, 3 or perhaps even 4 years old when our parents make us feel shameful about our bodies and that we have to wear clothes (and impose a monothiestic religion on us). The only time we should wear clothes is when it's too cold out to be naked.

Rape has nothing to do with sex, it is about control...

You're absolutely right, rape is an act of violence not sex. The point I was making is that suppressing nudity and sexuality from an individual will make a person more prone to rape another. Look at the Catholic Church. A lot of priests and bishops are raping children because they are not allowed to have sexual relationships with others. Also, in Japan where they display naked statues and are more open with their nudity and sexuality there are less rapes than in the USA.

    Agree.

The body is such a beautiful thing, why hide it? I truly respect people who go naked.

I'm a huge proponent of going barefoot. Been doing it actively since I was like 10. Several years ago I was dating a dancer who used to drop her clothes at the beach. Her and I (and a couple of her friends) used to go nude at the beach a lot and it was to fun and freeing. Now I don't have any friends who are willing to do that, so I feel nervous at the beach doing it alone. If I get enough guys and girls together, I'd love to have little nude mixers at my apartment. I already am planning a "no shoes allowed" party. That'll be fun.

Nudity in the right place and time is a lovely thing. A relaxing sauna for example.

You should visit San Francisco during one of the events where public nudity happens, e.g. Bay to Breakers. I did it nude at it was great! :D

I don't know about "promoted" (might be a tall order), but "legalized" for sure.

I'd settle for topfreedom equality within my lifetime, really.

I'll be there and be naked too. :D I didn't mention it because it's not a general-interest event. There is also the World Naked Bike Ride that is, however.

i agree, i'm a gay male into bsdm and kinky, therefore i usually attend this event. i lived in sfca in the mid to late 80's. i have encountered a lot of voyuers, who will par-take in festivitites in this great city. i have attended each fair since 1995, other than 2005 (hurricane katrina)and this year(work related issues).

    I beg to differ.
People should wear clothes in public places and I would not like to walk around
naked in front of a bunch of people that I don't know.

    Why?

    You don't have to.
