now i dont reallyh mind the frizzies(why i didnt use wax or anything) - but just for those occasions where you have to be a little extra presentable, before your dreads have fully tamed, are there any safe gels to use to smooth out the frizzes temporarily or will it hinder them in any way?

the residue free shampoo should wash it all out shouldnt it?

    yeah,

    imo,,, not the gel,

a spray mix of lemon and salt helps em to sit nicely for one of "those" occasions.

I have heard Knotty-boy has a gel, but seeing as I have not used it. I will not tell you to try it. I know some of the people on this site have tried it, so look around and ask.

I've got some of the knottyboy gel on the way cause I didn't like the wax either. I'll let you know how it goes.

I use the knotty boy gel about every 2 weeks just to take care of the frizz and such because I don't use wax and I needed some way to keep in control of my dreads. It works great but not something I'd use too often. Just don't put too much in because it can get very sticky/flakey
