a life of contemplation of your crime is no match for a life of waiting for that needle to be placed in your arm.
Unless you'd rather die than live with zero freedom. Some people had. They should not be forced to die, but given the option.
i used to not support it, until i had to do a project and take the pro stance on it. when i did the research, it really changed my mind on it. now i have mixed feelings. you really should keep an open mind on things like this.
not that i have, but many prisoners do try and kill themselves...i think our opinions on the subject mean nothing, we should ask someone who did time
theres a HUGE difference between jail and prison. ive spent a month in county, no big deal. i would not wanna go to prison though
the first year is of course the hardest right? wouldnt you get 'institutionalized' after a few years? why have someone kill themselves in jail when the prisoner can put to death for closure to the family?
That's a really difficult question for me to answer. Like you, I have a lot of mixed feelings on this subject. Our prisons are overfilled, and our tax dollars are paying for it. Sometimes I think the "eye for an eye" view point makes sense, yet in my heart, I have a hard time supporting the intentional killing of another life. It almost seems like the easy way out for the prisoner in a way. They are put to rest and not made to suffer for the crime that they have commited.
not trying to start an argument, but that statement is very subjective. one could argue that the 'humane' ways of putting someone to death (lethal injection) are far less barbaric then a criminal repeatedly stabbing or shooting their innocent victim
thats valid and it is injection is some states and in others its locking some1 in a chair and frying them alive
