i havent been here for a while, it has changed so much! i like it though. anyway i am just wondering what everyones thoughts are on suicide because one of my very good friends attempted it about two days ago so its just been playing on my mind (plus its all over the newspapers and tv so i cant really escape it). so let me know what you think please.
It's a sad thing that happens way to often. One of my very good friends commited suicide a few years ago and as much as you try and say to yourself that the person is in a better place without the pain anymore, you still think about what a loss it was and how you may have helped prevent it.
I don't know what I think about suicide, really. I do think that some people are just so sad and helpless that suicide would be the only thing to put them out of their misery, as harsh as that may sound. But I think with most people, things run in cycles. Just because a person might feel temporarily sad, does not mean that brighter days don't lie ahead. I have felt pretty low at times in my lie, but have never thought about killing myself. I can't even imagine what would drive a person to go that far, other than a sense of complete hopelessness and utter doom.
I never think about it myself. But my mother does, and a friend or two of mine. I always tell them its not worth it because theres going to be so many great experiences in their life down the road. But i know these people so id never say that for everyone. I often think its not worth it, but ive never felt it very strong. I guess if its that bad, maybe it is.
i don't know. i think it's a very comlex problem. its very sad to see ones friend attempt or even succed. i guess its a problem that is on a person to person basis. the thoughts of suicide have popped in my head a few times. never thought of actually going through with it, but they were there nonetheless. shit happens in life. i just realized that i had something to look forward to in life. i didn't know when i would get emotionally better, but i knew that someday i would. i'm a lot better than i was when i was in 7th grade, when everythign was happening. but i think if a person can help there friend, then they should exhaust all possibilities. i dunno, a person just needs to realize that they can get out of the slump and have a better life, but that is easier said than done.
You have to be clinically insane to take your life. No matter how shitty things may seem, I can't imagine ending my life.
i think beeing in a big hurry to get yourself dead is silly but if i did i'd go to someplace where people get killed for what i believe in and mouth off about it. i've often wondered about flying a model airplane carrying a crowbar into the control links of a hilicopter blade. such as one carrying a certain so called leader. say along about the time its something like 80 to 200 feet off the ground. of course i don't think 'lone nuts' really accomplish successful assassinations, that's just what the scapegoats get labled as when one happens. obviously if you did a political assassination openly and in front of everybody that would probably pretty much get you killed i would immagine. now don't get me wrong, i don't advocate killing anyone, even yourself, but it is a curious bit of speculation none the less. =^^= .../\...
