They want to be seperate but equal and men human and other men things make it seem as though man is in control of everything, I guess.
It's really not. Not from my POV. What others have said is true. Don''t use it if you don't like. Use it if you do. Don''t have a cow, man, if you see it. It isn't a huge deal. My last comment on this (hopefully.) (I ended with a participle, (?) so I errored again, LOL!)
The first time I saw "womyn", I thought it was woo-mine. By the way colour, theatre, honour, aeroplane, etc. are legitimate spellings in the dictionary.
Somebody wrote to me and called me stupid because of this thread, which I find absolutely hilarious. I'm sorry I told people to check the other 8000 threads on the topic instead of making people explain it once again. If that makes me dumb, well then, put me in a special class for them damn stupid logical people. Lol, people are funny.
Okay. As long as people don't start harassing me, I'm not going to make a huge deal out of being "dissed" here and there.
If I were to use "womyn" instead of "women/woman" (which I don't solely because I'm anal about spelling things properly), I'd do it because it's interesting and makes people look twice and start threads about it.
I don't see why it's degrading. It's a spelling of a word, and nothing more. I've said it before, and I'll say it again- it is not my preference. I spell it "woman". But if someone else wants to spell it "womyn", for whatever reason, they can be my guest. I don't care. I see no reason to make a big deal out of it. As long as everyone knows what they're saying, it shouldn't matter how they spell it. This isn't the SATs, it's a message board.
