This is the very first skirt that I made with my sewing machine. And, uh, the very first applique that I've ever done. So, yes, it kinda sucks (it especially sticks out to me that the thread is too dark on the applique to be able to see it on the darker panels) but I'm quite proud of it, so I decided to show it off! The color is kind of off because the room was dark (the fabrics are really a very light yellow and a medium yellow).
i want i want i want! lol! that is such an awsome skirt! Makes you wanna smile and be happy and sing and dance and all that fun stuff! awsome job!
Thanks a lot! Fleassy, it's the first skirt I've ever made on a sewing machine. Before this, I've sewn everything by hand. It makes everything so easy!
You did a great job! It's such a happy skirt! I can't imagine sewing clothes without a machine! I've done alot of sewing on of patches and that sorta thing 'back in the day' but not skirts.
OceanLily -- For sale? Really? Wow... Uh, I would offer to sell it to you, but the applique doesn't look very nice close up, and I wouldn't be happy letting someone else have something that's not perfect. If you wanted me to, I could make you one similar to it in your measurements and such for, I don't know... $20? Maybe a bit less? Send me a message if you're interested. And for everyone else: thanks so much. I absolutely love the skirt, even if the applique does kind of suck. I've been wearing it everywhere, and I've gotten a bunch of compliments on it. Definately a self-esteem boost, and you aren't helping my giant head at all!
