Hi, Yeah, the headline is lame. I am pretty stoned at the moment and feeling a little overdramatic. The truth be told: I have been living in the England for the past several months, but will be moving back to Florida in a few days. I am not happy about this development in my life, but family obligations and a horrible job here in England have created this diversion in my life. I will be living in the tampa bay area..I grew up in the area, but haven't lived in Florida since I was 16...Since then I have gone to university in Pennsylvania and lived in England for several years! I don't know anyone in Florida anymore, and I am leaving all my friends here. I feel really stupid sending this message out. I guess I want to introduce myself, and perhaps hook up with people in my area in Florida. I am a music junkie (my faves range from Joy Division and the Sex Pistols, to Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, Black Rebel Motorcyle Club, Neutral Milk Hotel, the Velvet Underground, the Smiths.), I play bass guitar and drums..........I love live gigs, road trips, etc.... Oh, and I watch a lot of cartoons when I am home and bored. Help! It's a culture shock. I am coming back to the double police state of Bush and Bush, palmetto bugs, double wide trailers..........and leaving a fucking killer music scene. HELP! I want to connect with some people so I can make this experience as positive as possible!
You sound really cool and I think we have a lot in common. Where in Florida, may I ask? And don't feel stupid about wanting to reach out, this is why I joined!
Moved here a 2 yrs ago from hippyville, indiana (shcking for me too), but starting to try to find cool friends here. I travel around a bit and I love all the music you quoted -- total variety freak when it comes to music. I am up in Tampa sometimes, have friends in Fort Myers and Tampa ridge area in the country. I know there's some cool stuff up there. hard to find of course, but i went to a sweat lodge up there too. anyway, yea, i'm looking for friends, and it would be nice to see people when I'm traveling around. peace....out
I loved Ocala, or Slowcala, as we called it. I went to nursing school at the community college there. There were a lot of rednecks, but it was very laid back overall. Did you ever get out of there? I wish I was back in FL.
