we need everyone to help, we need to bring the hippies back so that means we need to get people to stop listening to that gay ass shit and get more people to listen to some zep, or the doors, grateful dead, u get my drift we need to make a stand and stop letting these white kids from the suburbs think there gangsters and hand them a joint because thats what its about in the long run so whos with me
Get the idiocy gone!!! Make it illegal for people to use terms like: "gay ass shit" You get my drift? Chill out man...
Haven't been on these forums long, have you? Firstly, you're completely and totally preaching to the choir. Secondly, the way you said that made you sound like a gangster... except with different motives. Thirdly, handing gangsters a joint is a bad idea because that would give a bad name to marijuana that wasn't made up by the government. Thirdly, it's not all about the music. The music just related to the way of thinking. We've got to encourage the way of thinking, not something that's related.
No I think we just need to start our own thing that is authentic, kind of a neo-hippie thing I guess.
i think that deadhead420 was just trying to express his/herself so we shouldnt be mean lol but i see where naturefreak412 is coming from we should start our own thing dig?
I also agree with naturefreak412. I believe in having the same ideals and morals same taste in music. But a much different attitude towards life.
heh... bring back the hippies... they never left! you can find em in the old hippies forums. and man, next time be a little more eloquent with your word choice... gay ass shit? how about 'mass produced corporate brainwashing tools used to desensitize the masses and make total domination possible'... good luck man... but you keep that up and you're gonna get ripped to shreds...
Who the hell really cares what other people do anyway. Except for the short periods I'm in someone else's car, it hardly affects me. Go live your own fucking life.
hippies never left, go anywere and you will find someone who is a hippie. i mean, they will never die out. I see more and more kids who either are poser "hippies" or just listen to grateful dead or phish. but music doesnt matter at all i think, i mean it as an impact, but its the persons actions that makes them what peopl label as a hippie. i dont see how you are going to get more people become this, just let them be who they want to be, dont try to change them. and im from the suburbs, and we dont have gansters or white boys acting like gansters. thats in the city... haha

Not only have Hippies never left, they have always been...just the name changes with the time. Don't be too hard on deadhead420, I think he was expressing a feeling that alot of us can relate to...too much violence and too many people that get off on it. ..then the dumbshits wear pants so fucking big they can't run from the cops! go figure...As cool as it would be to 'start your own hippie thing'...well, anybody can dress up like a hippie but not everybody gets on the Bus. Unfortunately, the thing that united the so called hippie movement in the '60's was a war...and the line between hippie and establishment was well defined. Things seem to kinda blurr together these days. I do know that I am old enough to have gotten a glimpse of the 'pattern' of things, and fads & fashions, etc. repeat every 30 years so YOUR kids will probably be hippies too! I saw Jim Morrison live...on Orange Sunshine...but that's another story!
Man, just be yourself and do your thing as long as it doesn't encroach on someone else trying to be themselves and do their own thing. Being a Hippie isn't about what you wear, what you eat, how long your hair is, what drugs you do (or don't), how much sex you have, or really even what music you listen to. It is a way of thinking and living and being at peace with your brothers and sisters and the earth that sustains us. Most of us are not the true hippies of the 60's, except those who were there. Times are always changing and so are issues that we deal with. We just choose to deal with them peacefully and try to see our brother's point of view, and listen and think and learn and reflect. As Marley said: "None but ourselves can free our minds"
