Maybe I need to consult a grow guide before I post this supremely idiotic question, BUT how do you get more CO2 to your plants? As has been suggested in earlier threads, once the temps hit 80 in a growroom you'll want to start adding more CO2 ....well thats all fine and dandy but how do you do it? Is this something that can be picked up at Wal-Mart? Is it cheap? Is there such a thing as too much CO2? Can I just breathe really heavily on the plants(j/k) Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.
Your avg air has about 300ppm of Co2 and increasing to 1000 to 2000 can greatly increase the process of photosynthesis;even in high heat.To supply you have a choice of a Co2 generator which which burns either natural gas or propane(very much similar to a BBQ) but ya run into increased heat with but is the cheaper way to supply. Then there is bottled Co2 which is supplied by means of a emitter and is way more expensive but ya have no heat to deal with like the generator.Plants can yield up to 20%-40% more using Co2 properly. Many danders as well. There is too much I could tell ya and dont have the time so get this book, will enlighten ya on Co2.Peace "Gardening Indoors with CO2" Isbn # 1-878823-19-1
Get yourself a little CO2 generator if the heat isn't a problem. Plumb it to a large 100 gallon propane tank, (much easier than BBQ size to keep full), and off you go. I run 85 to 90 degrees, 1500ppm CO2, and plenty of lights and fans. Just watch out for ventilation problems. You don't want your exhaust fans blowing out all the time just to keep cool...or you'll lose your CO2. Good luck.
