http://www.bfi.org.uk/sightandsound/2000_07/american_movie.html I watched this last nigh..it was soo funny and moving and quite uplifting all at the same time. Fave line.. 'I stared at the shit for ten seconds and thougt, man, i am 30 and i am just about to clean up another persons shit'.. One of the many 'moving' moments when Mark tells the audience his contemplations on life the universe and the 'american dream'. http://www.americanmovie.com/bios/mb.html http://www.moviehabit.com/essays/borchardt_schank02.shtml The guy is a insperation..
I think this is a great movie, and I agree he's inspiring...a lot of people watch the movie and just laugh at the stupid things he's doing- but how many people have the guts to follow their passion the way he does... he might not be the most talented filmmaker in the world, but he puts everything he has into what he loves- really cool film.
I don't know the bits and pieces (of his film coven) i saw were not that bad.. it was funny when he was smashing one of his actors heads into the cabinet hahahaha and it would not break (almost knocking him out)... and the guy was still smiling and continued with the film...brilliant. One person gaining the respect and following he had, and the amount of time people gave him was realy amazing.. He did it all with a level of self deprecation and humour and most of all honesty that you don't see often. His mate Mike was realy messed up though ?? in a nice way
