my belief - waht do you think

I will keep it short as i can, caus i know long posts can loose poeple and they get bored lol.

ok basically i see that minds are merely the chemical process of teh brain. humans are no different form animals, beside their advanced thinkning processes. Life is an amazing miracle of science, and has no meaning, for meaning is an artificial value created by humans. Since life was not created by humans, is has no meaning, it jsut happened.

In repsone to religion, i feel that religion, and new age 'spirituality' beliefs are the main cause of suicide, for people are lead to beleive they will be at peace at death. I see death as non-existance, nothing can be felt, and so, no peace is achieved, only forgotteness. it is somehtign human mind cannot comprehend. I believe religion devalues life, for it assumes the soul is eternal and so, death is not really such a bad thing, hte person's soul will continue in heaven or hell or soemthing or other.

My beleive is an incredibly depressing and morbid one, that life ends definately, and after that, there is nothing. At all. it is scary, no one wants to beleive it, so generally, they dont. I see this is wat religion is. almsot all religions come down the the basis of escaping true death, or at least the thought of it.

still, i feel religion may be necessary, simply as a means to controll teh masses.

I hate fundamentalists.
I dislike stupid christians.

id love to believe that, it just seems so depressing. i would prefer to think that life and death is simply what the individual makes it. in other words, if you believe that your going to hell you go to hell, if you believe youlll be reincarnated, then reincarnated you will be. this means, that everyone is right.

i got this concept from the book mort by terry pratchet. it seems very practical and it really satisfies me when nothing makes sense. for me, life is about getting high and passing class and im truly content with that.

 

Goddammit, im so annoyed when people are like "Oh, I'm so depressed that' there's no afterlife" Fuck that shit! We gots what we gots! I don't know what's gonna happen afterward, and neither does anyone else on the planet, so, stop worryin about it, and fuckin live life. Personally, I take great solace in my atheism.

 

me too, i love being atheist... nothing could be less depressing... just makes me happy to be able to laugh at the majority of the world for their insane religious views

 

You see no reason to believe in a god, so take the next step and cease other unsubstaiated opinions and learn to accept, and maybe even understand a litte, the Reality of which you are a part.

Death is laughed at by the young, while the adults hide in fear, and the old people call his name.

At the proper time you will accept death for what it is.

 

I'm glad to be an atheist, because it allows me to live how I want to live. I don't like to try to think about not existing, so I don't but I do believe that's what will happen. I just want to live my life and not regret the things I do and not have to answer to some higher power.

I'm in a very good place right now.

Sure I don't see what's so depressing about it either. Life is what it is. There may be more, there may not be. Who's to say? All we KNOW is that we have this one little life to live and the seconds stream by even as I write. I do spend a portion of my time searching, questioning reality and drawing conclusions about what is going on here, but only for my own entertainment and enlightenment.

If there is a God (big IF I know) I think it wants us to live life to the fullest too. Life must be the centerpeice of what the Other is about. So either way your doing the right thing! Hows that for non-depressing?

i also take solace in my atheism. and disrespect religion as an institution. but recognise that it must exist in order to prevent the world from colapsing into chaos. however, the world must be rid of fundamentalism for peace and acceptance to be. i do accept religion, but i do not respect blind faith.

I believe exactly what you beleive, life means nothing, death is the end. God does not exist, life is the first, last and only great miracle of our universe. I intend to devote my life to being happy and to philosophy, then I shall die. Hopefully reaching enlightenment before hand

The LAWS that allow such systems..Come from where?

Such complexity in a finite system as is our observable universe.
