Baby proofing your house

i just watched a segment of news on baby proofing your house. is it really neccessary to go to the extreme of locking up the fridge to baby proof your house? i can get locking away chemicals and other harmful products, but to lock the fridge up. that just seems really odd to me. even locking the draw full of eating utensils seems a bit extremish to me. when i watch over my baby cousins that are just starting to walk, i don't see them doing half the things the "news" program was baby proofing.

i remember being 3 or 4 playing with a hammer adn nails. so is it really that necessary to do so much baby proofing nowadays?

people are stupid, These people are raising pussified babies. we never had an outlet cover or locked cabinets or anything here.

 

Some of the extremes are a little weird, like flame retardent pajamas. I mean, wf?
