Actually, we probably should all be going about in rickshaws. I'm ditching my car for a bike when I get up enough nerve.
I won't drive on the highway if there's traffic. I'm fine though at the off peak hours, just merging FREAKS me out. Especially when there's jerks that DON'T GET OVER WHEN THEY SEE A NERVOUS TEENAGE DRIVER TRYING TO MERGE AND THERE'S NO ONE ELSE IN THE LEFT LANE! I seriously need to get a flashing light on my car that says "student driver" because I go the speed limit, maybe 5 over, and I won't shift lanes unless there's absolutely no one around me. Freaaaaaks me out. Merging is the worst though because sometimes people won't get over at all and there's no way to get onto the highway, and then I just want to start crying because people start beeping their horns at me but I can't go because people aren't considerate and omg. What's even worse are on the small highways (like not controlled access) where the speed limit is say 45, and soccer moms in minivans are on my ass and pass me going 75 because they need to get little Britney and Jonny to practice. Jesus Christ... I only go the speed limit because if I got pulled over, I could have my license revoked because I'm under 18 or fined out the ass and have to go to a class, while an older driver could get pulled over for the exact same speeding issue and still get off with just a ticket. Grrrrr.
I know a couple of people that are quite scared of driving across bridges, one to the point she can't even do it herself anf if she is the passanger, she has to clothes her eyes and make alot of noise to distract herself. I know someone else who in addition to the bridge thing she is terrified of driving across frozen lakes. She had good reason though, as she had one been on a bridge and the car flipped off and landed on some frozen body of water-tried once to take her out on a frozen lake and after that episode thought better.
Im not to scared of driving across bridges, unless they are narrow or curvy... still scared of the highway...I dread driving to work every morning pretty sad, yes I know...
haha thats funny, my sister is the same way. whenever she has to get on a big highway as she calls it (3+ lanes) she gets in the lane all the way to the right so she doesnt miss her exit and she isnt in the middle. ive never heard of anyone else like this, my sister will be happy to hear it though!
