What craft REALLY makes you think of hippies? For me, it's macrame. Very hippie! What about everyone else? What do you think?
Well, now it's patchy clothes but I have to admit that I was actually doing macrame in the 60's, (mostly purses) so that goes waaay back.
What about painting/drawing? I know those are arts, not crafts... but those make me think of hippies... kind of...
horseshoe nail crafts, and wire wrap jewlery top my list. My dad used to make those and other stuff, and sell them at festivals. When he died his crafty spirit must have shot right into me
Tie dying is the main one I associate with hippies. That and bead work of all kinds...especially hair beads and necklaces.
I tink to be Hippy - is the happiest thing in the world. And everything we do - we do it in Hippy Way.
eeehhhh everyone makes hemp stuff everywhere i look. it makes me sad a little. i dont know why though
homemade clothes and functional handmade tools, can never forget one of my old hippie farmer friends teaching me how to forge weld a broken shovel blade back together, any useful thing made from recycled materials.
