for son who thinks he likes rap. Uh oh, damage control time!
I 'm looking for good messages from nonhating people.
Franti is already on the list.
some explicit lyrics are OK. Non creative or woman hating isn't
Lefty politics a plus to both of us.
    lead me on, folks

Express Yourself- by NWA is a real inspirational song, although I probally wouldn't recommend most of their stuff.....

"When you got a subject and a predacit.
Add it on a dope beat
    And that'll make you think.
Some suckaz just tickle me pink
To my stomache. 'Cause they don't flow like this one.
You know what? I won't hesitate to dis one
    Or two before I'm through.
So don't try to sing this!
    Some drop science
    While I'm droppin' English.
    Even if Yella
    Makes it a-capella
I still express, yo, I don't smoke weed or a sess.
Cause its known to give a brother brain damage.
And brain damage on the mic don't manage
    Nuthin'
But makin' a sucker and you equal.
    Don't be another sequel...

    Express Yourself...
    Express Yourself...
    Come on and do it..."

For political hip hop, check out:

    Mos Def
    Boogie Down Productions
    The Last Poets
    Common
    Freestyle Fellowship
    Arrested Development
    Basehead
    Jungle Brothers

and I agree that both The Pharcyde, KRS-One, A Tribe Called Quest and Da La Soul also do political hip hop

He's my favourite rapper out at the moment. How do you mean bullshit? Depends whether you're a "conspiracy" theorist or not I suppose.

Immortal is sick, Company Flow (this one song Patriotism is beyond bonkers).
X Clan, P.E., Cannibal Ox, Binary Star, K OS, Mr Lif (who is prolly the most politically drivin musician on teh entire hiphop market), MF Doom, Non Phixion, Jean Grae, Danger Mouse & Gemini, Archetype, Nezbeat, 7L & Esoterec, Arrested Developement, Jungle Brothers, Lauryn Hill, Jadakiss(altho less often that not), Illogic, Beasty Boys, Zion I, Fugees, Floetry, A Tribe Called Quest, Black Star, Akrobatik, Blackaliscious, and DEFINATELY TAKE BLACK EYED PEAS OFF THAT LIST
