First Barefoot experience

Ahhh it was so liberating! yesterday, my traitor shoes broke, and it was really painful having to walk around in them. So, i just took them off, and walked home barefoot. Besides a few awkward stares, and the roughness, it was fun! the heat from the ground radiated upward and soothed my aching feet, and my back and legs even felt better.Now i know why so many people like to do it! For those of you who have gone barefoot before, was it also a good time for you?

 

Can't say I ever really thought much about it... I've always just found it more comfortable. Never really had any odd stares that I can recall, though.

my first real experience since i was a kid was this: last month after wearing flipflops for the first time since last summer i got blisters on top of my feet, then i got blisters on my ankles from going sockless in my converse, so the next day i limped off to work in my flipflops and halfway down my hill decided fuck it and i went barefoot then i just got on the bus and walked through the mall etc like that. i walked home barefoot too. but then i got blisters on the bottom of my feet (its a 45 min walk home) now it doesn't bother me and i go almost all the time now.

 

Summer of my 8th grade year. I hung out with 2 really cute girls that I had crushes on. They never ever wore shoes, went everywhere you can think of barefoot. And I had this friend named Chris who also never wore shoes (surfer kid) and I was into it, but was shy about going barefoot in public. He and I would hang out and he'd go places barefoot, ride his bike, etc. and I was curious about the whole thing. So, one day, while hanging out with the girls, we all ride bikes up to the supermarket to get some food for the summer barbeque. They wore sunglasses and sundresses and plodded around in their bare feet. I had flip-flops on, shorts and a t-shirt. I locked my bike up, slipped off my shoes, was nervous as hell, and ran in with them, hiding behind my sunglasses the whole time. They thought it was great because they had never seen me go barefoot before. My friend Chris' influence got me into it, the girls made me ok with it...been doing it ever since.

When, uh like almost 20 years ago. Wow I've gotten old.

 

still it is awesome story. I'm 48 and been barefooting all my life.

 

I've been a "barefooter" since 1997, when I moved from New York to Florida. I love feet -- feet are great. That love of feet combined with the stifling summer heat of Florida meant that going barefoot was a natural development for me.

I even went on a "pilgrimage" to Connecticut soon afterward to meet Richard Frazine, author of The Barefoot Hiker, http://members.aol.com/bhthom/hikertxt.htm, which was awesome!

It always feels good to go barefoot, LQ.

I love walking around bare foot... My favorite time i must say is when i mowed the grass in bare feet.. and everyone looked at me funny... lol but i didn't care! I got the best green feet ever! it was truely amazing!
