    Hi everyone!

Haven't been here in a while, hopefully I'll find time to go through the last month or so of postings, get caught up with everything that is going on.

Some of you might remember I was having a D&C and a laporoscopy to treat what was assumed to be endometriosis. Well I had the surgery yesterday and I am very pleased to report I do NOT have endo. Yay!

    But..

It turns out what's been causing the pain is that I have lots of varicose veins in my pelvis that are badly inflammed and really really red. Does anyone else here have this problem? I've been looking at stuff on the internet and everything, but this diagnosis came out of left field. I had no idea such a thing even existed. I won't be seeing my gyne for the follow-up for about three weeks or so, so I'm just trying to find out lots of stuff on my own so I'll be able to ask her more specific questions.

If anyone can help me out at all, please post here or pm me ... I'd really appreciate it.

PS to Maggie - thanks for all the support the last few months :) You're my favourite Internet Mama. :)

Thanks, Supergrl. I wish I could help with this one. I don't know much about it, give me a few days (gonna be busy as can be in the next few days) and I'll see what I can find.

I am sorry you are still in pain.

Prayers to you for a happy recovery from your surgery. I've had endolap surgery, and it does take a few days to get back on your feet, overcome the anesthesia and the pain from the procedure.

Good luck. I'll see what I can find in a few days.

My doctor has told me that I have this too, it is something they found in an ultrasound. He never treated me for it or mentioned that it could be treated, just that I have them and they can cause pain. Later my gyno looked at the ultrasound and said that it wasn't any big deal and made it sound like it wouldn't cause too much pain. If you find anything out I would be happy to know as well!

Sera, this is one website I've found... http://www.inletmedical.org/html/pelvic_congestion.htm
apparently that's what this is called "Pelvic Congestion Syndrome" They found yours on an ultrasound? That's so odd..I mean, I've had TONS of ultrasounds since this pain even began (almost ten years ago) and no one ever said a thing. wtf?

Maggie, thanks for the thoughts & prayers. The pain right now (from the incision) is worse at night during the day, but at least I'm allowed to have a shower today which I think should help my all-over wellbeing. :)

Thx for the info, it is the most I have seen on the condition. They found it in me using some special ultrasound that shows bloodflow or something like that. They wern't looking for it at the time, they were looking at my appendix (which has since been removed).

I sometimes wonder if there is something wrong with me causing all my illness. I have IBS, endo, trouble with ovarian cysts, recently had to have my gallbladder and appendix removed, and have these messed up veins in my uterus. It seems like everything in my abdomen is cursed or something!

Thanks hippychickmommy! It's nice to be around again! I *should* be getting internet in my room soon enough, so that will help me be around more. I've missed all the friendly people :)

Supergrl, do you have some Motrin and Vicodin for the pain? These seem to work well together for this type of post surgical pain. The Vic kills the pain and the Motrin helps with the inflamation and the pain. I took this combo after my last few surgeries and it worked better than either of them alone. (They also have a hydrocodone-ibuprofen combo pill called Vicoprofen, which is good for this kind of pain.) But I was taking about 800 mgs of ibuprofen every 6 hours, and taking the Vic every 3-4 hours, so I took them at different times, after my laproscope and my last two C sections.

    Heal, sister.

Maggie...they gave me a prescription for Tylenol 3 but I really hate feeling that foggy, medicine-head thing, you know? I'm actually not in a ton of pain as long as I sit still lol ibuprofen seems to be working really well. The lap wasn't bad because they only had to do one incision - when they found no endo they didn't cut me open anywhere else. Did you use any vitamin E or anything on the scars?? I have some and want to use it but I don't know if I can yet - is it safe to do that before it's done healing? I don't want to get an infection or anything.

It's going well though, I'm fully-stocked with movies to watch, both old and new, and I still have another week off of work.

Sera - sorry to hear you have so many problems! You poor girlie :( I was wondering, have you tried any sort of yoga or anything like that for the pelvic pain? It was recommended to me once, a long time ago - I'm finally looking into it now. I really don't want to be on painkillers for the rest of my life. Dr W told me there's nothing she can really do treatment-wise until after I've had my kids...so that would be quite a while to be popping drugs...not good!

If you aren't in too much pain, and the Motrin alone works, save the T3 for really bad pain.

Don't put anything on a new incision, you are right, you could infect yourself. I have never put anything on any of my multiple abdominal incisions. They alll healed well, with a minimal of scarring. (My lap gave me a funny little scar in my belly button, where they placed the camera, the tiny incisions over my ovaries healed completely, and are unnoticable. My C Sec incision site isn't bad, either.) Just leave the lap incision alone. It willl heal. In a few months, if it is really notiable, (and every one scars differently) you can get some of that Scar Ointment, if the scar is bothering you. But for now, just leave it be.

My FIL is dying and I have been looking for hospice care, hon, so I haven't been able to do much research on your condition. Some of the ladies here have been quite helpful, and I'll do some research when I can (in fact, I left the keyboard for about 20 minutes while typing this to talk to the hospice, it is just overwelming. The only reason I am online, is that there is nothing else I can do for him at this point.)

Sit down and watch those movies, take the meds as you need them (but take the Motrin on a regular schedule as you will not have the pain get out of hand that way!) get enough fluids, and take care of youself.

If you are in fear of being in chronic pain, that is something I also deal with daily. It can be handled, even with children, even during pregnancy. There is always hope.

    Blessings.

    Healing prayers.

    Maggie
