Since there seems to be a few locals here i thought i would tell you about the freecycle thing. It's www.freecycle.org and you just get rid of things you are no longer wanting AND you can get things you are looking for. There's a group in Pensacola. It's a yahoo group thing but works out pretty good. I think the Good Will and all that in P'cola is ok but sometimes the prices are a bit high.. and this is FREE!

What's this place all about, from ya'lls perspective.

To be honest, I just typed "forums, Pensacola" and this place came up.

Grew up in GB. Parent's still there "down hwy 98" that is. [IMG]

Just got back into town after 12 yrs. Been living here full time 6 mos.

    Lots of changes! Good changes.

    Peace.

I've been here for not quite 3 months, and I'm really enjoying it.

If you find yourself in Navarre Beach, you have to eat at Cocodrie's. I'm the waiter with the shaved head.

i've just started looking into it. having hiked parts of the appalachian trail i'm really excited about the FT, different as it may be.

so its 1300 miles of trail (and road walking) that starts (or ends) down by the everglades and goes to the alabama line. it also shoots out to fort pickens, via gulf islands nat'l seashore. i was at pensacola beach last week and saw trail markers on the road there.
anyway i'm really happy about this thing! yay!

    Cool.

I don't know if it's part of the Florida Trail, but there is a paved bike/walking path that runs along the Sound side of Santa Rosa Island between Pensacola Beach and Navarre Beach.

I'd say I'm more into strolling than hiking. The weather here further dissuades me from wanting to hike. I'd rather just goof around in the water. I like to walk along the beach and stuff but that's about it.

heh heh yeah i guess it is more accurate to say 'strolling'; my old climbing/hiking buddies in the mountains of new york would laugh to hear me say i'm HIKING in florida!!

i'm getting pretty comfortable becoming a beach bum. i think surfing will be my next undertaking...........
